8.8. code on dryer display
The machine control electronics monitors the
exhaust temperature using the thermistor, and
cycles the heater relay on and off to maintain
the desired temperature.
Begin with an empty dryer and a clean lint
screen.
1. Plug in dryer or reconnect power.
2. Set the following configuration:
? Door - must be firmly closed
? Press Control On
? Press End Of Cycle Signal (Louder)
? Press Start
3. If after 60 seconds, E1 or E2 flashes in the
display and the dryer shuts off, the thermistor
or wire harness is either shorted or open.
? Unplug dryer or disconnect power.
? Check wire connections at the machine
control electronics and thermistor. See
Accessing & Removing the Electronic
Assemblies, page 7, and figure 8 for
thermistor location.
? If wire connections are good, remove the
two wires from the thermistor and replace
the thermistor.

8.8. Code displayed on panel intermittently. Dryer starts after 5 or 6 attempts.
8.8 appears on panel - reset breakers with no luck, unplug with no luck. This is the third time this has happened. One time I could use the timed setting to get the unit to work and then the sensor worked fine for months. The second time the display came on after unplugging and sitting for 15 minutes. No solution this time.
Same day with 8.8 display problem...3 hours later the panel changed to 50 minutes. Pressed start but unit only started for a second and then stopped, screen blank, then 50 comes back up. Same problem using the sensor start. Timed start didn't work once. Tried timed start and it's running now. Does this sound like a control panel issue?
