*** The following is for information only.***
* The symptom of melted ice and water dripping from tray is usually caused by several things;
* Most common is ice build up in freezer coils. This happens every time the door is opened. Ice builds up on coils but is normally removed during a daily defrost cycle.
* The cycle may be unable to defrost all ice due to bad air circulation. Usually caused by rubbish blocking fan intake (bottom of freezer tray or wall.) Overloading food may cover the intake.
* Remove all food from freezer. Check for fan blockage. There should be a steady flow of cold air. If not then your freezer needs to be defrosted.
* Defrost by moving all frozen food to fridge side or cooler. Unplug fridge and open freezer door (drawer). Allow room air to circulate into the freezer. Use a house fan to blow air into freezer. (DO NOT use Hair dryer! It will damage panels.)
* Check and remove melted ice water. Check inner panels of freezer. Once defrosted the panels will be room temperature to the touch. There should not be any condensation or coldness to the panel. If it's still cold then keep defrosting.
* Once the water stops dripping. then close freezer doors.
* plug in freezer and wait 5 mins. Check freezer if inside is cold and the air is blowing cold. Reload freezer with food, take care not to overload or cover fan intake. Monitor for 2 days.

SOURCE: amana side by side ice dispenser leaking water

Take the ice maker out and look at the mold. If the coating is flaking off then that is where it is leaking. Will need to replace the ice maker.

SOURCE: ge profile refrigerator slow water dispenser

Have had problem with slow water dispenser in GE Profile refrigerator for two years. SOLUTION IS TO INSERT A THIN PLASTIC OR BRASS WASHER. The washer must have a hole large enough go over the center post / plug with the two O rings but not so large it interferes with the seating of the filter. The objective is to fully depress the little black valve piece. The little ramps on the new filters do not fully engage the valve and thus the water trickles out. Volume increased from one cup per 20 seconds to 1 cup per 10 seconds, double the flow. Washer 1 mm thick will do the trick (about a dime thickness). I used a thin brass washer which barely fit the center post, had to remove O rings to get it on. (Re-install O rings.) The outer diameter of the washer was just enough to touch the little black valve nub. If this works for you please repost and pass the word.

Thanks for the model number. The water control valve=> W10245167 Water Inlet Valve will need replaced when this happens. Problem allows water to leak slowly into the ice maker and fill tube can become solid very quickly, or very messy ice formations coming down from ice maker, Thanks John Tripp Appliance 911

Ice Maker has ice forming underneath where ice cubes drop. It is leaking water from somewhere?

The water inlet valve on the back of the unit where the water supply comes in can have a slow leak and will cause ice to buildup and block the fill tube. Disconnect the ice maker line from the valve and watch to see if it has a slow drip. It doesn’t take much to eventually block the fill tube.
The valve can leak because of sediment in the water preventing it from closing or low water pressure.

You can thaw out the fill tube and replace the inlet valves.

Or
Try swapping the wires on the dual water inlet valve. Then try the water dispenser. The water should go to the ice maker. This will tell you weather or not the ice maker valve is working and if the line is clear.

hi..
Your water inlet valve on the back where the water supply comes in is probably leaking. disconnect the water line coming out of it and see if you have a slow drip. Try the dispenser to see if it's just drips after use.

If the valves clicks but water doesn't get to ice maker the fill tube can be stopped up with ice.The water inlet valve on the back of the unit where the water supply comes in can have a slow leak and will cause ice to buildup and block the fill tube. Water leak

IF THE ICE MAKER AND DISPENSER ARE BOTH OFF, THE WATER VALVE IS THE PROBLEM. THERE SHOULD ONLY BE WATER RUNNING WHEN THE ICE MAKER CALLS FOR IT, AND THAT SHOULD ONLY BE ABOUT 7 SECONDS WORTH,
(4 OUNCES).
THE ONLY THING THAT PUZZLES ME ABOUT YOUR DESCRIPTION IS THAT YOU SAY ICE FREEZES OVER THE COMPRESSOR. THE COMPRESSOR IS THE HOT ROUND OBJECT LOCATED UNDER THE REFRIGERATOR OUTSIDE THE COOLING COMPARTMNTS. FREEZING ONLY TAKES PLACE IN THE FREEZER COMPARTMENT. ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT THE EVAPORATOR COILS? IF THERE IS WATER THERE, THE ICE MAKER COULD BE STUCK IN THE FILL MODE AND THE BACK OF THE ICE MAKER FROZEN SO THE WATER CAN'T REACH THE MOLD OF THE ICE MAKER.
CHECK THE FRONT OF THE ICE MAKER BEHIND THE COVER FOR A BROKEN GEAR. IF IT HAS WRITING ON IT THAT SAYS DO NOT ROTATE MANUALLY, YOU NEED TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE MODULE ON THE FRONT OF THE ICE MAKER.
