SanDisk Sansa e270 MP3 Player has only 79 songs and 3 GB used

I have a SanDisk Sansa e270 MP3 Player and have only 79 songs downloaded to it and I have only 3 GB left. How could only 79 songs from Napster take up so much room?

You may have some corrupt data on the device.

It sometimes creates the wrong file allocation and gives you an incorrect representation of the free space.

Try formatting the device in My Computer to erase all of the information and start over.

My Computer>Device Name(e270)>Right Click and select FORMAT.

Best of Luck.

Sandisk E270 MP3 player represented on Ebay as New . Maybe not!

Depends on the price, I own 2 of these both 8 gb and have been verry happy with them, one thing they have that almost no other players offer is a battery you can change your self unlike an I POD that has to be sent back to Sony for this, if all seems to work and it seems like a fair price go for it.

My MP3 player is telling me I used 7 GB when theres nothing on it

Update your firmware.
Download firmware http://www.sandisk.com/Retail/Default.aspx?CatID=1449
Install the newly downloaded firmware.
It should work like new and give you back your missing gigs.
You should prolly reformat the player too.

The song does not have transfer rights - you must upgrade to Napster To Go.
