may be the rec mode button is set at the anti grounding..usually at sony camera there are 3 switch mode the 5 sec mode, anti grounding and other and always use is the start and stop mode...this switch is located at the side of the camera...

Next time this happens unplug it for about 10 minutes. When you plug it back up you should be able to turn it back on normally. This resets the board, much like restarting your computer. If the problem happens again, you will probably have to replace the board. You also want to make sure you have a good ground on the circuit and a steady power supply without too much fluctuation.
