How do you access the top of a Pfaff 1020 sewing machine?

To access the top of a Pfaff 1020 sewing machine, you will need to remove the top cover by unscrewing the screws located on the back of the machine. Once the screws are removed, the top cover can be lifted off to access the internal components.

On Pfaff 7550, Menu button is stuck/ has lost its play. Absence of play prevents choice of stitches on display which does show. Reverse or Needle down, etc. buttons do not function when Menu is stuck.

Hello, Victoria -

I suggest you locate an authorized Pfaff sewing machine repair business near you and take the machine there for evaluation and repair.

Best wishes.

Given Pfaff 297-1 sewing machine for charity work everthing seems to be right but it does not feed - the feedogs seem to be too low. It's sewing steadily on the spot.

Could be the feed dogs are lowered to do darning. Here's a manual:

PFAFF 294 Instruction Book Page 11

See if the A/B switch makes any difference in the feed dogs.

Sometimes these old machines haven't been oiled like they should and it's possible the feed dogs are stuck in the lowered position. Also, if it was used a lot the feed dogs get worn and no longer work like they should.
