Have a John Deere 4410, sometimes after about an hour of work it’ll just quit moving forward or backward, it just comes to a complete stop, but with the PTO still on and bucket works fine. Cut the tractor off for 5 min and back on, it’ll go for about another hour. Any help??

SOURCE: john deere 2010 tractor. pto grinds and wont engage

The PTO usually has a clutch that has to be engaged so that you can select the PTO rotation setting. I had a problem like that on my tractor and all it needed was a little adjustment on the PTO clutch lever, so it could disengage the PTO gearbox properly.

SOURCE: John Deere L120 transmission high pitch noise and no forward move

Try jacking the unit up. Start it up and try moving pushing the forward and reverse back and forth and see if it does it then. It sounds like an oil way in the hydrostatic unit has a check valve stuck. Of course make sure that the fluid lever is up. Hope this will help you. donnyb60

SOURCE: need the pto to work on a 6300 john deere tractor

If you have tried a new sensor and a new switch the the next step is to replace the pto solenoid valve. If that proves fruitless then the b.c.u.needs to be replaced or bypassed. The solenoid valve will cure your problem 90% of the time.If that does not work, let me know,i can tell you how to by-pass the b.c.u..

John Deere D110 mower. It quits moving forward after 5 feet. The pedals feel lose, replaced blade, belt and trans belt and axle keys, but no luck.

Quester edited for clarity and spelling 'deer' to 'Deere'.
Question moved to John Deere D110.

Try the 5 minute fix, but your sounds like the hydrostatic transmission.

John Deere 4410 PTO error code. One long flash, one short flash and then six short flashes.

Check the wires on the solenoids.

Items L, M, N are mid PTO, MFWD, and rear PTO respectively

Also look at the skid plates as the possible cause of wire damage. A cheap spot / zip tie will keep the wires away from any future damage. Often the wires are damaged / torn off by a foreign object striking the Solenoid.
