SOURCE: 1986 buick century ltd interior front passenger water leak

Tricky, tricky, tricky...Well, if the heater core and all connecting hoses are not leaking, the only other place that I could see water coming from would be a leaky windshield. Have you looked up around the windshield to see if there is any moisture around the trim? If the heater core and hoses aren't leaking, and the windshield isn't leaking either, the only other possibility that I can think of would be that perhaps your passenger side door has bad weatherstripping/seal. There just isn't anywhere else for it to be coming in. It kind of bites that you had to replace the heater core if it does turn out to be a leaky window or door seal, but at least you can comfort yourself in thinking that you have a 1986 Buick that eventually would have needed a new heater core, probably sooner rather than later, and now you wont have to worry about it for as long as you'll own that car. Just be glad that you were able to get it replaced at a far more convenient time than having to get stranded somewhere or a time when you didn't have the funds to do so. Hope this helps. Try to stay dry and have a great day!

SOURCE: Pool heater leakage

Chances are that the header or manifold is cracked. usually the heat exchanger themselves are not damaged from freeze, but either the rear manifold (header) or the front header (the one that pipes go in and out of). Sometimes both. Replacing the entire heater is not necessary, about $200 in parts usually. We have a schematic diagram of the LJ heater here: http://www.poolcenter.com/parts_heaters_lite2_lj_2003-present_pg1.htm

yes you can replace the core but you should check all the other components to be sure the chlorine hasn,t destroyed them.

SOURCE: low pressure reading on Pool Heater

I had this problem with ours last year. I replaced the water pressure switch and it began working fine. We later had a symptom that the blower would start but it would not ignite. The ignitor rod was corroded so I took it out and sanded it with some sandpaper---worked fine...until I dropped it trying to reinstall and it broke. Bought a new one and it works fine now.

Today's problem is related to the blower now.... it is always something, isn't it?!?

Pentair minimax heater works but why is it making a chugging sound?

sounds like you have air in the system u will need to bleed it out while the pump is running.

If you have bubbles, you have a suction leak. That means the pump is pulling air into the system. Sometimes it's just the basket o-ring under the pump lid needs replacing. If the pump has run hot (without water) for a while, it may have caused shrinkage at the inlet to the pump. Unless it is underground, suction leaks are fairly easy and inexpensive to fix. Heaters will not work properly with air in the system.

I have a water leak from my heat exchanger, can I fix or do I need to replace?

Fixing is usually not an option due to the metal being so thin throughout the exchanger. Unfortunately the replacement is not cheap.
A replacement will run pretty deep in to the price of a new heater, and all the other components are still old and subject to fail. Most people opt to replace the heater for a long term solution.
Keep a closer watch on the pH, alkalinity and calcium next time to prevent this from happening again. Vinyl and fiberglass pools experience this more because the pH has a tendency to drop. Plaster pools have pH that wants to rise.

Water is dripping down inside the heater on the left side, pool co. says I need to buy a new heater. Any thoughts?

The heat exchanger is the problem and it is expensive to fix. If the leak has gone on long enough to damage other parts or the heater is getting older than 8-10 years then it is likely better to replace it.

If the unit is newer and in decent shape then fixing it is an option but total for parts and labor is nearly half the cost of a new unit so consider carefully if the repair is really worth it.

Hayward Model H250IDL is leaking water from drain valve.

Water leaking from the heater is not a good sign. This is an indication of a leaking heat exhanger. The heat exchanger will have to be replaced and the part is made of copper. It is very expensive, depending on the age, you may just want to replace the entire heater. Exchangers usually leak due to bad water chemistry.

This means it is stuck between the spin and rinse cycle and the time piece in the housing unit might need replaced if the knob itself isnt stripped also make sure it is on small or large load..

The manual is on Pentair's site. If you are leaking water at the plastic conections you might be able to tighten them down a little. Don't go crazy they are only plastic. There are orings in there and may need to be replaced
