I have a whirlpool dishwasher model wdt790saym. After discovering a leak underneath which made the subfloor temporarily warped, I disconnected both water and power (flipped the breaker), and pulled the dishwasher out. Two weeks later the floor is completely dry and the subfloor has returned to its normal state. I would now like to troubleshoot the dishwasher to see where the leak is but upon reconnecting everything and turning the power on, the dishwasher has no lights on the control panel. I used a non contact tester to see if there is power to it, and there is. I have tried pressing the control lock button, various combinations of the start/stop buttons, and checked the float valve and the door seal (though there should at least be lights on for cycle selection even with the door open)

This is very likely due to a bad main electronic control board but the only way to know for sure is to do some electrical testing with a volt/ohm meter and the wiring diagram located within the appliance. If possible use the meter and the wiring diagram to check input/output voltages looking for discrepancies between the diagram and the actual meter readings.

you need to check the power only:
1- check the power come to the wall right ,if not
get elecricity man to bring it to plug in the wall
2- check the cord of m/c if it has fuse check it
and replace with same values ampers,....so on
3- if problem still check electricity reach at end of cord if not ,chang cord
4- if you still have problem inform us
>be ware of electricale chock it is your your life> thanks from me m abba

in the front left bottom of the tub is a float switch; it sometimes is under a cover with a screw securing it it looks like a big round ball shaped piece of plastic and on the bottom of this float there's a pin going down a hole in the tub (the float pin sits on the switch and, water lifting up and down on the float moves the switch: listen for a distinct "click" as you move the float up and, down
you see; the float rises as the water fills the dishwasher tub closing the float switch and, signaling the washer to start cleaning the dishes
some times dirt prevents movement of the float but, waiting usually displaces the dirt/soap etc. just enough to make it work again until the float pin gets encrusted again the cure is to clean the float pin
SOURCE: I have an electric whirlpool dryer that stopped working
The problem you describe is usually caused by a thermal fuse intended to shut the dryer motor down and keep it off because of a problem with air flow within the dryer.
The following process will allow you to test the thermal fuse and replace it if you find it open.
Unplug unit and turn off gas if gas model. Check to be sure you have 240 Volts at wall outlet.
Most parts likely to fail on electric dryers are inside the rear cover. Heater is on right inside can, safety thermostat on lower left of can, High limit thermostat (non-resettable) higher left of can. On the blower housing to the left are the operating thermostat and, in some models, a thermal fuse (white plastic). ALL can be continuity checked easily. Always disconnect wire on one side of what you are testing. One will likely be open. Replace the component that fails the continuity test.
Replacing the heater, if necessary, can be done by disconnecting the wires at the lower left of the heater can on right. There will be a screw on each side edge of the lower half of the can. Remove the two screws and pull off the back lower half of the heater can and reverse the above process to install the new heater.
The thermal fuse or high limit thermostat failure generally points to a reduction of air flow due to SOME blockage either inside the dryer or in the vent pipe leading out of the house. If you find either of these parts bad be sure to check the vents after replacing parts to ensure the same parts won't fail again.
Testimonial: "Thank you. That was it. Perfect. Had visions of a new motor or new machine. $10 part did the trick. Thank you, thank you."

Looks like you have had someone provide solutions for your problem with dishwasher. Unfortunately I can only see your responses.
The most likely explanation for such behaviour is either a short in the control panel (under the keys) or faulty control board. Check this site for availability.

Hope this fixes the problem.
