The tray doesn't fill up with water. We first thought maybe the line was frozen so we turned it off and let it thaw but that did not fix the problem. We are wondering about pressure? We recently bought a new filter and the ice maker stopped working about a week or so later. The door water dispenser still works fine. We also pulled the refrigerator out from the wall to check for a kink in the line but that appears to be fine. Thanks.
Turn off water. Disconnect the line after the filter. Turn water back on. If there is no water flowing, replace the filter. If there is water flowing, the feed valve is probably defective.

low water pressure or faulty valve
low water pressure the valves do not seal proper and slow drips freeze up in tube
are you on well/?

if all good faulty water valve
You mean " Why The Water Doesn't Fill the Tray in Kenmore Ice Maker?"
Am i right to your question? Well, Kenmore brand refrigerators often have an ice maker that uses the water supply to create ice inside the freezer compartment. Some models have an ice dispenser on the freezer door for easy access, and others simply create ice and deposit it into a tray inside the freezer. While most ice makers should work well with basic maintenance and care, issues may occasionally arise. One such problem is if the water does not fill the tray to create ice inside the ice maker. Resolving this issue may be possible through some troubleshooting efforts.
1 Remove the ice bin from the freezer.
2 Fill a turkey baster with hot water.
3 Spray hot water from the turkey baster into the tube at the back of the ice maker, which may be frozen or clogged.
4 Repeat spraying water into the tube until the blockage or frost is removed.
5 Replace the ice bin into the unit.
Please let me know if this help you.

Start with changing the water valve in back of box. Take the water line from the valve and blow in to line to see if fill tube is frozen also. If it is take a hairdryer and thaw the fill tube. Turn off the box while thawing tube then turn on. If all this dont fix it time for new maker. But dont replace icemaker till you check the rest because It wont work if the tube is frozen or bad water valve. I hope this helps.
There three problem that will not make your ice maker to make ice. If the water’s route is blocked or the solenoid
doesn’t work
If the bail wire is lifted—the ice maker won’t make ice.
Your home’s water pressure must be strong enough to
serve an ice maker.
For your ice maker to maker ice, be sure the bail wire above the ice tray is in the
down position. If the ice maker doesn’t make ice but you can see the
arm swing into motion and you hear a buzz for about 10 seconds after it
is finished, the water valve is asking for water that isn’t arriving.
This means the valve and the solenoid are probably okay, but the water
supply is not. Be sure the water supply line isn’t kinked behind or
beneath the refrigerator (1/4-inch copper tubing is much better than
plastic fill line).
Also, check to see if something has caused ice to back up
around the mechanism—this can cause the fill tube to freeze, blocking
the mechanism. When ice cubes are small and seem to be getting smaller,
it generally indicates a frozen fill tube.
Check the water line that enters the back of the
freezer for a blockage. Find the water shut-off valve behind the
refrigerator or under the sink, turn it off, unscrew the copper line
from the back of the refrigerator, put the copper line in a bucket, turn
on the valve, and see if pressurized water pours out.
The
water line attaches to a solenoid at the back of the refrigerator and
then travels to the ice maker. The solenoid may be defective or may not
be receiving power. You can try removing the sediment screen inside the
solenoid and flushing it with water to clean it, and at the same time
you can inspect any seals or diaphragms to ensure that they are sound.
Unplug the refrigerator first. Check the tap valve; a bad tap valve may cause the
problem where the ice maker supply tube connects to the water pipe. If
necessary, replace the inlet valve and the tap valve. For the tap valve,
use the type that requires you to drill a 1/4-inch hole (as opposed to
the “self-piercing” type). You can do this yourself, or call a repair person or plumber to install an inline water filter when replacing
the valve.

The waterinlet valve on the back of the unit where the
water supply comes in can have a slow leak and will cause ice to buildup and block
the fill tube. Disconnect the ice maker line from the valve and watch to see if
it has a slow drip. It doesn’t take much to eventually block the fill tube.
The valve can leak because of sediment in the water
preventing it from closing or low water pressure.
May be an issue with the cam that operates the ice maker. U can pick up a new ice maker for about 40 bucks on ebay.
Lots of things could be bogus. If the solenoid does not open, no water in tray - no ice. If tray does not get warm for fingers, fingers cannot push ice out - no ice. If freezer is not at least 10 degrees, no ice making at all. If cam motor for maker is bogus, anything could be out of whack.
guest make sure your wire arm on icemaker is down same dandcs also for orig poster they have duel water valves one goes to door water one goes to icemaker.icemaker works a general rule more than door water so wears out faster but you have to replace both as they are a unit .other things that will stop ice production are frozen ice fill tube ,bad motor module in icemaker .check that first .if that don't solve it then reply to me and we will get deeper
