Hello, Joanna -
There are 2 models of Hamiltion Beach FlexBrew coffee makers: a 12-cup and pod machine and single-serve machine.
Whichever one you have, I suspect you do not have the User Guide for the machine.
If yours is the 12-cup and pod machine, you can find the User Guide (a PDF document, meaning you will need Adobe Acrobat Software, free) to download and save here:
https://www.hamiltonbeach.com/flexbrew-2-way-coffee-maker-49976#support
Click or tap on the User and Care Guide to download it. The cleaning instructions are on Page 9 of the document.
You will also see a link to videos demonstrating the cleaning processes.
If yours is the single-serve machine, you can find the the User Guide (PDF document) to download and save here:
https://www.hamiltonbeach.com/flexbrew-single-serve-coffee-maker-49974
Click or tap on the User and Care Guide to download it. The cleaning instructions are on Page 6 of the document.
You will also see a link to videos demonstrating the cleaning processes.
Best wishes.
SOURCE: hamilton beach brew station spring problem
The spring goes at the top of the stem, under the filter basket. This keeps tension on the basket, so it will pop up when you remove the cover.
SOURCE: Brew station is extremely slow, suspect it needs cleaning.
You can run a cup of vinegar through the machine. Run it just as you would making coffee, except without the coffee. Run water through the cycle at least twice to remove sediment and the vinegar. Works like a charm.
there is a small rubber flap valve in the tank. if you carefully clean that on a regular basis your problem should end.
