There are only a few possible reasons...

  1. The battery is not being charged properly
  2. The battery needs to be cycled
  3. The batter is defective
Option 1 - If available try another charger
Option 2 - Run the device until the battery totally dead\depleated of power. Then charge the battery for the maximum charge time suggested by the manufacturer. If you do not have the manual and cannot find their website then attempt to charge the unit for apptox 24 hours. If this does not work then it is either option 1 or 2.
Option 3 - If available try another battery in the device and see if it is being charged and if it is holding the charge. If Yes, then the battery need to be replaced.

It could be a bad battery, or it could be a bad alternator, ground wire, dirty terminals, etc.
You need to test the components.
Charge the battery.
Then put a voltmeter across it.
It should read 12.5 volts about.
When you crank it, it should drop to about 10.
If it drops lower, the batter or starter is likely bad.
If it does not drop to 10, then the starter or terminals are bad,
If you stop cranking, the battery should come back up.
If it does not, it is bad.
Once started, then you should see over 13.5 when reved up.
If not, the alternator or terminals are bad.

SOURCE: new battery won't hold charge

the best way to check for a draw is to remove the neg cable from the battery charge if then place a test light between the battery and the cable if the light is on you have a draw then start to unplug connectors one at a time the first one i would test is the charging system plug first if the diode is bad it will drain the battery

Golf Buddy WT5. What are the correct rechargeable batteries?

There seems to be many batteries available in several different capacities from many sources varying wildly in price.

Try an internet search for yourself.

Be aware the watch must be dismantled - the motherboard removed to access the battery. I suggest you ground yourself before proceeding with the utmost caution. If you have any doubt about your ability in this matter it would be better to ask your local phone doctor or similar to do the work for you...

Our Golf Buddy watches no longer charge and last for 18 holes

Hello -

Have you considered replacing the rechargeable batteries in the watches?

Rechargeable batteries do not last forever, eventually losing their ability to hold a charge.

Make sure you obtain the right rechargeable batteries for the watches and dispose of the old batteries properly at a location which accepts such batteries for recycling.

Best wishes.
