Please help. Pride GoGo ultra Pot problems with seven beeps, does anyone know if the resistor on the middle pin is necessary?

Hi I have a Pride GoGo ultra (old style) and im having a problem with the 5kohm pot. it was bad so took out and replace with another pot which worked but didnt turn enough to run the throttle (press the forward at max and the thing crawled forward and same back. So i bought another original pot from ebay and installed this but this again just jerks forward and does the 7 beeps. i know there was a resistor on the middle line but need to know what it was but cant find a wiring diagram.

SOURCE: I have a pride victory xl8. Problem - was running

All scooters have a protection system built in to prevent burning up the motor, and the user, should the scooter overheat. It sounds like yours overheated. If the temp. outside was warm to hot, and your weight is near the weight limit for the scooter, and you are taxing the motors over a hill, or unstable terrain, then the scooter goes into "limp home mode", or just enough to get you a bit aways, and then it will turn off. After a few minutes to cool off, it will go again, but shut down fairly quickly because it takes a spell to let the whole transaxle-motor assembly to get cool.

Check your weight, and anything else you may be carrying with you on the scooter. Check the terrain, and incline you are going against. Throttle down for all these occassions. If you overloaded the system at some point, then you may have overheated the brushes. Remove them (2) with a standard screwdriver and see if the copper coil is still flexible and springy. If not, replace it/them.

The damage may already be done, so it may need a new motor/transaxle assembly. An expensive proposition I'm afraid.

SOURCE: I have a milan mobility scooter, turn the key & it sounds a low

Hi. This sounds difficult. I have had a few scooters move slowly forward or in reverse, but not both. Normally if the speed pot ( wig wag ) is not exactly in the central position, they can do this.
It is possible for a scooter to have your problem, if the speed lever is binding or rubbing on the housing. Normally the lever is returned to the middle by a spring around the speed pot shaft. If this spring is loose or broken, then this could also cause the problem. Sometimes a small spot of oil or grease will help.
To check the speed lever is in the middle, slowly move the lever for forward untill you hear the brake solenoid release. Now release the lever and slowly pull it for reverse untill you hear the brake solenoid release. Make sure that the speed lever moves the same amount for forward as it does for reverse. If not adjust it with the key off.
If you get the machine to drive properly, then change the controller to see if it is OK.
As for the beeping, a lot of machines will go into an error mode if the speed lever is not in the central position when you turn the key on. This is a safety precausion.
Good luck. Neil.

I have a 2008 pride gogo elite traveller plus that has a throttle potentiometer error. I have opened upthe control panel i have the part dwr9983h008 but i cant find a replacement.

You can get parts from the Pride website.
On the pot itself, there should be the value in ohms so you may be able to find one at a Radio Shack or some other electronics parts house.

Troubleshooting code beeps 9 times. battery is charged and the unit is not hot.

hi, okay that a system controller fault however it can also be a loose connection around the controller area, removing the connectors that go into the controller has worked for me, if not it's normally a resistor network inside the controller.

I offer a free testing and repair service ...

My gogo ultra is showing fully charged and horn beeps, when i put key in it beeps fast 10 times and 5 beeps after

5 beeps usually means scooter is out of gear, but since the lever is in the drive position and the scooter gearbox/differential is engaged, it seems that the controller is not sensing the gear change. Possibly a faulty micro switch in the motor housing can be the cause of this, usually the micro switch is pressed down by the drive lever and if the switch is pressed down the motor controller knows the scooter is in gear.

Scooter beeping

Six beeps would say it is the throttle pot not in its centre off position or the pot needs replacing. Is the wig wag lever loose by this I mean the lever is wobbly and moves up and down a fair bit. This would indicate its had its day. Have you had speed issues before this problem as this is normally the case before they go wrong altogether.

I have a pride go go ultra x scooter... I purchased it, and it had no top dash at all... I put a new throttle pot, and a whole new dash assembly... It runs great... Then I turn the speed pot to fast......

7 flash code is: Throttle control fault.

1. Check wiring for open/short circuits.
2. Check the throttle set-up.... The ohms should be very close to each other when placed checking forward and reverse on set up.

Go go ultra

hi, okay if it's the loading effect on the batteries, not a loose connection, then look at the speed pot, when it slows down try pushing the lever upwards or downwards, improves then the pot needs replacing , this is a simple test to see whether the tracks within the pots are worn...
