Question about Honda outboard
The carburator needs to be cleaned, the idle jet is the first one that stops up. Make sure that the oil is up to the level and fresh and make sure that you have a clean tank with fresh fuel. You could do a Californian carb clean: rev it up and put your hand over the intake to create a vacuum till it almost stops and do that a couple of times, the jet could clear up in mild cases.

Hey Maureen, I am guessing this is an outboard motor??... either way.. sounds like its time for a "tune-up"... the carb(s) needs a professional cleaning and setting... new spark plug(s)..this should perk it up nicely!!
