Owners of a GE WES model might want to look at this blog post.

I'm sure the magnetron overheated and tripped the magnetron's thermal cutout.

I'd strongly suggest taking it back if you can.

SOURCE: Placed 3 ears of corn

Hello,

What this indicate is that the time of the oven will need to be reset
What you are to do to fix up this problem is to follow this instruction bellow

Press the "Timer set" button and a timer indicator light will illuminate. If you allow five minutes to pass while setting the timer, the light will go off and you will have to press "Timer set" again.

Choose the "Hour" button to select the number of time you want to set; push the arrow up until you reach the number of time desired. Select the "Minute" button and move the arrow up to add minutes or down to subtract minutes. Press the "Start" button to begin the countdown to the amount of time selected.

Press the "Timer off" button to make the timer stop. When the time you set has been reached, the timer will let you know with an end-of-time tone. Most Whirlpool models will also give you a timer-finished tone every two minutes thereafter.

thank you and thanks for using fixya.

Microwave doesn't popcorn all the way on popcorn seeting

Most M/W use an estimated setting based on ounces of corn. I've found that many do not tell you how much is in each bag. The bags usually have no size markings. Check the face of the box for something like "2 each 3 oz bags".
* Try to use a normal re-heat setting (at full power) and cook a bag using the a minute longer than the recommended setting. Listen to the popping sounds and stop the M/W when the pops slow to 3-4 seconds. (2-3 seconds with 'Kettle' corn) Note the time lapsed and this is your correct setting. You may try the popcorn menu to find a similar setting but really your best bet is to use the method above as it's the most accurate.
* Note; Old or stale corn will not all pop (it dries out as it gets older and there is not enough moisture in the kernnal to steam pop.)
* M/W varies from model to model and brand to brand. Only way to check is to try several settings to get the best results.
* Pop corn brands vary in quality. You will find the better name brands pop more.
* Once you find a good popping brand then stick to that size and brand. (unless they change it on you.)
* If your really stuck on getting every corn kern popped then go with an air popper. It won't come out of cooker till it pops.

Good movie, don't forget the goobers, milk duds, frosty...

How to cook corn in microwave

Depends on your microwave and the popcorn. Your owner's manual will have instructions. The first couple times, it will probably be by trial and error.

BTW--the best way to get rid of stinky burned popcorn smell from a microwave is to microwave a small amount (1/4 cup) vinegar until boiling and let it set in the microwave for a while.

I want to know how many watts my 2002 jvm1430bd002 microwave has...I have googled this question and have answers ranging from 700 to 1200! what gives???

Conduct what the USDA Food Safety and Inspection Service calls a "Time-to-Boil" test, which will help you estimate your microwave's wattage. Add 1 cup of water to a microwave-safe 2-cup measure. Add ice cubes and stir until the water is icy cold. Pour out the excess water, leaving just 1 cup. Place the measuring cup inside the microwave. Set the oven for four minutes on high. Watch through the glass to see when the water boils. If it takes less than two minutes, the microwave is 1,000 watts or more; if it takes 2.5 minutes, the oven has a rating of 800 watts or more; if it boils in 3 minutes, the estimated wattage is 650 to 700.

I need instructions for 10in. microwave browner

Only place I've found is here: CorningWare Browner Instructions

As these dishes were designed by Corning for a 650 watt over, you can recalculate preheat and cooking times for your oven with the following formula:

650/(your oven's wattage) x (listed preheat time or cook time)

For example, for a Corning MW-9 dish, they list 4 minutes maximum preheat time. I have a 1,580 watt oven. So 650/1580 = .41 x 4 minutes = 1.64 minutes and about a minute and a half preheat. (MAX).

Heating problems Jenn-air microwave - jmv8000bds - it heats while unused for a while but to warm more than the first item is not working - what is broke? [email protected]

First, check to make sure that the air vents are clear. Secondly, is the cooling fan running? If these are OK, (how old is this unit?) it's probably the magnetron is old and weak....... Put in a container with 2 quarts of cold water and run it for 10 minutes. It should boil water after about 4 or 5 minutes and keep boiling it for the remainder of the timer preset. If not, the magnetron is losing power.
