SOURCE: no chann. 70 on Uniden 525 marine radio

You can't "select" channel 70, nor can you talk on channel 70. Channel 70 is reserved for the exchange of digital data between radios.

And it is not possible to address an "emergency" (do you mean distress? or urgency?) message to an individual recipient.

Your radio is not allowing you to do any of these things because it has been (correctly) programmed to discourage you from doing things that would be illegal.

If you set up a routine call with your friend (or anyone else), you should find that once the two radios have completed their (almost instantaneous) exchange on Channel 70, they will both switch to whichever working channel you had selected, and he will get a beeping sound to tell him that there is an incoming call.

Sounds to me like both radios are doing exactly what they are supposed to.

I need to reset Simrad AI50 ais to a new MMSI.. Thank you

This is the official line

Can I change the MMSI number entered into a VHF radio or AIS unit?
Once entered and confirmed, the MMSI number can only be changed by a certified technical dealer. If you need your number reset or changed, it is recommended that you contact the organization or agency which originally registered your MMSI. For more information about MMSI numbers, go to the
United States Coast Guard website at this link.

Entering my MMSI number i can get to the setup screen but won't go to the next step

Has it ever been setup for a MMSI? If so, I think they can only be set once and need to be cleared by the factory to be ready for a "new" MMSI to be entered.

Need to reset mmsi number

I don't think the RAY100 is DSC compatible and therefore doesn't have the MMSI programmed into it. Most manufacturers limited the number of times that the MMSI can be programmed to one (!). After that, it has to got the factory or to an authorized dealer who can bypass the restriction.

Change MMSI number ? simrad rd 68

Hi!

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but according to the Owners Manual for this unit:
http://www.busse-yachtshop.de/pdf/simrad-rd68.pdf (Page 6),
to erase a previously entered MMSI, the radio must be sent to a Simrad authorized dealer. I suppose this feature was put into effect to cut down on stolen Simrad products.

Hope this is helpful, sorry I couldn't do more for you.

How to reset mmsi number Raymarine 215

This secret code is for the Raytheon / Raymarine RAY 220 VHF. It may work on other Raytheon/Raymarine radios also.

Here you go:

With the Power OFF, Press and HOLD the FUNC, 16/9 and DSC keys while you power ON. Do not release the keys until you hear the audio BEEP which means your done. Then reprogam your NMSI number as per the manual. Pretty easy, hey?

Need to reset the mmsi

Did you ever solve this problem. I have just purchased a little Leisure 17-SL with a fairly new one of theses radios. I have the handbook and discover you can only program the MMSI once and then return to a dealer to clear it!
Many thanks
