SOURCE: 1600cc vw engine, ran sluggish, backfired and wont

Sounds like you are describing two different problems?... First, can you put a wrench on the crank bolt and turn the engine (2 complete turns...with trans out of gear of course)? ...if not this indicates an internal failure in the engine... if so check to see if the distributor has moved... that would explain the sluggishness and the backfire...The lost fasteners you mention should not affect driveability... When you say it will not turn over I am assuming you mean the starter won't engage... if you can hear the starter engaging (clicking), but the motor still won't turn (with a good charge on the battery and good wire connections), that is again a sign of serious engine damage... If no sounds come from the starter (and you have checked wiring and have good voltage) pull out the starter and test on the ground with jumper cables... Hope this helps... post more details if none of these steps get you going again...;-)

Over heats while stop iat traffic light radiator fluid is full i think the fan is not working

I think you are right. Let the car idle with the hood up as you watch to see if the fan kicks in when the temperature goes over normal.

Hi my problem is that my 1999 grand cherokee over heath i was told that the problem is the cooling fan relay

It could also be the thermostat. If you can't hear/see the fan turn on though it is probably the fan. It should turn on when it gets up to temperature and turn off as the engine cools down. Start it up and watch under the hood to see if it turns on when the temp gets to normal...if it doesn't, whoever told you it was the cooling fan relay was right. The easiest replacement is the relay, if that doesn't work, it's probably the sensor that turns the fan on.

The fan starts up and runs on its own and we are cooking

That is a normal safety feature.

That's only covered in a very subtle note in the hood fan section of your owner's manual:

NOTE:If the temperature gets too hot around the
microwave oven, the fan in the vent hood will
automatically turn on at the HIGH setting to cool the
oven. It may stay on up to an hour. When this
occurs, the fan can not be turned off.

If for some reason you don't have your owner's manual, you can download it here.

Enter your model number as MV1610ST with no spaces.

You will need the free DJVU viewer to view or print your manual.

Blower motor on above stove microwave not running

The dual fan in the back is the vent / exhaust / hood fa. It will run when you turn it on, or if the stove top gets too hot.

The other fan is the magnetron cooling fan, and it will only run when you are cooking. If it is not running, your magnetron can be destroyed.

You can download GE owner's manuals and installation instructions here. That may help you a lot.

Auto-fan turns on too often.

Normally the exhaust / vent / hood fan will come on automatically if the stove top or the bottom plate of the microwave gets too hot.

Also, there may be some settings for the auto-fan that can work like this.

Consult your manual. If you don't have it, you can download GE owner's manuals and installation instructions here.

Otherwise, the hood fan thermostat may be failing. It should be normally open when you do a continuity check.

If you or someone you know wants to look into this, we have critical safety, disassembly, and troubleshooting info at our site, and our link is at our listing here on FixYa.

We even have a video on our site that shows you how to safely & easily remove the control panel assembly in less than 5 minutes so you can check out your oven.

You can usually find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your full model number here.

There should also be a "mini-manual" hidden inside the unit behind the control panel or hidden on the left side behind the grille, which is very helpful when troubleshooting & testing.

VENT CAME ON BY ITSELF. WHIRLPOOL MH6130XEB-2

The hood / vent fan is controlled by the keypad, but it will also come on when the temperature of the hood area / stove top gets too high.

If it does not go back off by itself after a few minutes, then you probably have a shorted hood fan thermostat.

Kenmore microhood

"Microhood" seems to be a slang term for the "microwave hood" (hood fan or exhaust fan) which is normally part of an over-the-range microwave oven or range. But these should be available separately, as I seem to recall. I would contact home centers such as Lowe's, Home Depot (if they still exist), etc., or a local appliance store.
