SOURCE: ACER Aspire 9140 LCD hinge and/or LCD frame

Contact a local computer shop or a TV repair shop. Best bet is eBay, look for a completely trashed laptop just for a frame and hinge.

As far as mail-order/online, try this site:

Dodge caliber sprung door

I am not familiar with your model. If it has welded hinges, making slight adjustments to them isn't difficult - if you have some experience and a hinge setting tool but without these things the job becomes quite complicated.
If the hinges are bolted types, door realignment is somewhat more straightforward, though access to the bolts is sometimes difficult. The spring fitted to one of the hinges is likely to be very difficult to refit due to the strength of the spring - it would be advisable to wear safety glasses and gloves as strong springs can be dangerous.

If the door pillar has been bent it might not be possible to align the door until the pillar has been reshaped.

Left hinge broke on lexmark pro 905

Not a perfect fix, but this is what I did: There are 2 spring-loaded pistons located on the printer side of the hinge that cause this problem. I think there should be another piece of plastic that holds the top of the printer hinge down on these springs, but when this hinge is gone, the top of the printer is held upward by them. If you use some pliers to gently pull these spring-loaded pistons upward, you can easily pull them out, followed by the springs they cover. Once removing these, the top of the printer lies flat. The top is still unstable, but mine will now feed paper just fine and closes. Hope this helps! WebRepOverall ratingThis site has no rating(not enough votes)

The scanner lid won't close properly. I see the right back corner of the lid has popped out of it's socket. how can I fix this?

I have a Lexmark X6570 All In One Wi-Fi model. Just had the problem where I went to print and received an error message saying that the cover was open (when it wasn't). I noticed that the back right hand corner had slightly popped out of place for no apparent reason. Tried to pus it back into place with no luck.

Here's what happened and how to fix it:
There are two plastic hinges at the back of the 6500 series printers that allow the top cover to open for access to the ink cartridge carriage. The lower ends of the hinges are cylindrical shaped and each contains a very stiff steel spring inside. They are designed to prop the cover of the printer up and hold it open when opened. As the plastic material ages, it may weaken and the tension of the internal spring may break the round end of the hinge off. This causes the printer cover to not fully close (even though it may appear so). There is a switch in the main printer body that detects when the top cover it open (even partially), and the printer won't work in this condition.

To fix this, open the top cover and carefully disconnect the 3 wire harnesses and the ribbon cable that run from the top cover to the base of the printer. Then remove the 'paper jam' hatch cover from the back of the printer. There are two phillips screws on the back panel of the pinter (one is located behind the paper jam hatch cover). Remove these screws (they secure the plastic hinges in place). You should now be able to lift the complete top cover/ scanner table assembly off the rest of the printer. Look for a steel spring about 3 inches long...remove this along with the round base of the hinge which may have broken off and remained down inside the printer. Glue this piece back onto the end of the hinge, but leave the spring out. Now reassemble the printer in the reverse order of disassembly and you should be good to go. Note that the top cover or the printer will not stay propped open on it's own with the spring removed, but this is not really an issue.

I am not sure if new replacement hinges are readily available from Lexmark or other sources.

Lexmark 7600 printer cover is not seating properly after installing printer cartridge

The two hinges are attached to the back of the printer by two screws. I removed the two screws and lifted the top off, freeing the two hinges (the one on the right was broken so part of it stayed in the printer). There is a restraining line on the right side that keeps the top from coming completely free of the printer, but it can be worked around while still attached. I removed the broken pieces and the internal spring from the right side hing. The spring is what was keeping the top from seating correctly. I assume you could order a new hing, but I reassembled the printer without the spring and the top seated properly. The printer works, but I will now need to be very careful when replacing the ink cartridges because of the missing hing on the right side.

Re: Lexmark P3150 printer

some place on the underside of the lid there will either be a magnet of some type that contacts the base when closed. or a tab of some sort that goes into an optical sensor to tell the printer the lid is closed. i dont know this machine but i fix printers for a living. this is not a software issue. sensor problem yes. look on the back of the lid where the hinge is look for a wire to those hinges. if this unit has such a wire check it for damage.

Cover open Error message

I'd say maybe the switchs is broken and your machine reminds me of a lexmark fault. Look for the cover switch, under lid on base, at rear, small hole, find the switch that get's activated when openning and closing the top, maybe it is missing, or broken.

link to lexmark fault, that I think you will find your answer.
