Question about Maytag Kitchen Ranges
Ignitors on stove top will not work. Need to replace.
As you are facing the range, there should be a metal plate (held on by one screw) on the left hand side behind the console. Model and serial number should be located here. On some models the information will be along one side of the oven door opening, or bottom drawer. Hope this helps you.

sure you can relace yourself, the part number, if you dont already have from previous repairs can be obtained fromthe sears website, or by calling manufacture direct. as far as a schematic there should be one located behind the range.

Most likely replacing the ignitor will fix it. I usually replace Viking ignitors with Maytag ones, part number 12400035 (you'll need splice wires and use included wire nuts to connect those, though). Those have a little shorter base, which does not affect anything. Replace both bake ignitors if you can, otherwise, one of the burners will ignite slower and shut off faster, resulting in uneven bake.

Sorry to read about your problem, I hope this helps you out.
You could have 3 different problems.
1. defective gas control valve to the oven
2. defective temp probe
3. defective gas control knob
THIS IS A GAS PRODUCT, INCORRECT REPAIR CAN CAUSE A EXPLOSION, AND DEATH CAN OCCUR. IF YOU DO HAVE THE PROPER TOOLS SUCH AS MANOMETER AND LEAK DETECTORS, I SUGGEST YOU CONTACT A SERVICE COMPANY.
I tried to help you. Please help me and Rate/Vote on my response. We take the time to answer your question. take the time to rate us.Thanks and good luck
