I jsut purchased an 8GB sansa view mp3 and I downloaded it like I was suppose to and it does not work in Rhapsody at all, also in the windows media player it shows that the device was installed correctly but it still doesn't work and I still can't sync my songs to it. The sansa icon won't even show up

Check your computer specs to see if those USB ports are 2.0 or higher - Belarc Adviser is a good program that will give you detailed computer specs if you have lot the paperwork. If they are not 2.0, they may not be strong enough to power the player.
The error message you are getting can usually be solved by going into Windows Recovery Mode (warning: the side effect is that all songs will be erased from your mp3 player, so you will have to re-add them): disconnect the player from the
computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to
the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume +
button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into
recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found
New Hardware Wizard.
If the pop-up does not come up, I would go ahead and get the Sansa Recovery Tool form Sandisk's website.

There is quite possibly a problem with the USB cable or the USB port on the computer, but try this shortcut force to force the computer to recognize the Mp3 player: Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard
SOURCE: windows doesn's recognize camera, device manager says no driver
Hi -
Have you tried another USB port? Sometimes, they can act goofy.
Also be sure your anti-virus isn't blocking any part of the installation.
Here is a link to the Samsung troubleshooting guide for your camera.
You can probably download the most recent driver from that website as well.
Perhaps they have a better or newer version than what came prepackaged
with the camera (just because a camera is a new purchase does not mean
the software it came with is the most updated).

I run WinXP home edition, so I am not familiar if there are any differences in the professional version regarding software installation....
Good luck!

Reformat clip with disk utility after looking at it like an external disk. Do this by turning it off. Puting it in lock mode. Hold down middle button as you plug it in.
I am mad at my Clip as it did the same thing.
