I have an epson model EMP-S5 when I power it up the power light starts green goes to red and the bulb light flashes. I tried holding down the left, right and enter button powered it up and while holding those buttons attempted to push the on button and nothing happened. I let go of the 3 buttons turn it on and same thing occurs. Bought anew bulb and installed made no difference.

1. Make sure, your projector is on standby. 2. While holding down the projector's Comp Sync + and Comp Tracking + buttons, press and hold down the power button. 3. After status light 1, 2, and 3 flash ON and OFF at least three times,
release the Comp Sync + and the power button. The flashing lamps status
indicate that the lamptimer is reset.
check for the error indicator in the projector, if the bulb light is flashing red, then i think you need to clean the units ventilation fan, if cleaning doesnt solve the problem, you have to replace the bulb.
Just so you know guys (and this procedure is not for the faint hearted!). I had the slow one second red warning light flash. I checked the bulb, which was find and I left it powered off for 48 hours. My projector is no longer under warranty and would have cost me over £300 to have it looked at. I ventured inside to inspect the boards, once I removed the main board to check the power supply I heard movement from one of the light ducts. It took me a while to removed enough to discover the fixing screw which holds the imaging cube in place (which is between the 3 light ducts and the projector lens) had come out (!?) and was rolling around inside the unit. This would also explain why sometimes I could not focus my unit properly. I remounted the imaging cube, put the whole thing back together and PRESTO! My projector is working again. [email protected]
Ok , most of the time this would be the Fan.Powerboard that is faulty then and unfortunatelly it would be better to replace the part rather than having it repaired.
Repaired Powerboards normally give the same problem a couple of months down the line.
