Purchased an alpine 3011 graphic equalizer that has no wiring diagram...cannot hook it up without knowing what wires do what

You are going to need the DIN plugs for the unit, on the back there are two imput jacks. The left jack is for the imput from your head unit, as far as I know, there is no other way for the EQ to accept imput except for the jack. The right one is for a digital time delay unit (rare). Coming out of the unit there are two output jacks, one is line out front, the other is line out rear. With these, there are also your power, ground, remote power, and speaker out puts. Good luck. I had one of these back in the 80's.

Need a wiring diagram for alpine ktp445 amplifier to install on no alpine system

bassmekanic_3.jpg For this end of the plug: I would plug the other end of the KTP-445 directly into it and match the color of the wires off the other plug, remember to write them down, but most of the wires look like standard plug wires on most stereo plugs. When this is complete you should be able to snip this end off. Then wire it the wiring harness inside the dash (using the notes you took on the wire colors)

bassmekanic_4.jpg This end of the plug looks to have all the standard wires that most after market stereos have, clip this end off and wire it to the wiring harness on your current stereo. (You may not use all the wires, just tape them off because you probably won't need them anyway)

This is just my opinion on how it would be done, I have not tried this myself. But since most aftermarket stereos have the same kind of wire set up I do believe this could work.

If you decide to try it, please give some feedback so others can figure out how to do this also.

I need to connect an Alpine Stereo to a 12v battery in a boat. I know that that is not recommended but we got it used. I am not sure which wires to connect to where. Could you please help me?

Connect the yellow wire directly to the battery (this is constant 12v power, to maintain memory settings). Red wire gets wired to the switched 12v system (so that the stereo turns on and off with the ignition). Blue wire (or blue/white) would be for an antenna or an amplifier (if not used, just seal it off with electrical tape). Orange wire isn't used (that's a dimmer wire for tapping into a car's dash light dimming). Black is ground. The rest of the colored pairs (gray, gray/black, green, green/black, white, white/black, purple, purple/black) are the speaker outputs. The wires with the black stripes are the negative wires in each pair. They usually say on them which color corresponds to which speaker location (front left, rear right, etc). If not, take a look on the Alpine unit - sometimes there's a decal or diagram on there, or a list, which will tell you which wires to connect to which speakers.
