you could be hooking it up backwards and the fuse is blowing because the reverse polarity diode is burnt.replace it,if it still blows it could be your final.

Radio won't key up

Microphone or output circuit problem are most likely---The 25 is a fairly trouble free radio.

The microphone is the most common issue--broken wires inside the plug connection or a broken wire in the cable up to the microphone head.

I need a schematic for a uniden pc 78 elite cb radio

I will assume you have also looked for the schematic as a Cobra 29ltd which is the same radio----Check the internal speaker with a meter first and also examine the external speaker jack which will cut the inside speaker off.

Lastly a microphone with a broken wire in any area will kill receive audio.

I jus was wondering, can the cb radio and the handheld radio transmit on the same channel? Im a security officer and im interested in purchase a cb radio so we can use it at work but i dont know if its...

CB radios and hand-held CB radios can operate on the same channel and be in contact with each other. Other hand-held radios do not operate on the same frequencies and even though they may have channel numbers the channels have different frequencies and will not operate to CB radios.

Mobile cb radio keeps changing channels

If you have a scan button on the microphone, it may be stuck in the scan mode. It also ha could also be a wire shorted inside of the microphone plug.

Use trial and error systemathically. If still refuses to work, mike and radio aren't compatibles.

Maxon Model MCB10A

In order to test this unit you will need a power meter with a dummy load. connect the power meter and turn on the unit, key the microphone and look at the power meter it should have a reading of < 4 watts PEP unmodulated and = 4 watts PEP modulated. If you do not have this reading the RF transmitter in the CB might be malfunctioning. You will need a RF generator, a power meter with dummy load, oscilloscope and a multimeter to troubleshoot this problem with. If you do not have or do not know what this equipment is or how it works, please take your unit to a CB repair shop. Thank you, Shuttle83
