Question about Viking VDSC365-6B Dual Fuel (Electric and Gas) Kitchen Range

Viking Dual Fuel 6 Burner 48" OVEN DOES NOT HEAT

The oven is not heating, which is strange and more than coincidental in that it occured the day after Thanksgiving when all worked well. So, I'm wondering if it needs reset, or something happened after my wife cleaned it. Power is fine, temp control light comes on, fan works for convection, but the light adjacent to the oven function (broil, bake, etc) knob does not light. Oven does not work in broil or bake mode. Sure don't want to spend $200. if it is a small problem I can cure myself.

Same problem has plagued our 5 year old model from the start. Serviceman first suggested kicking the lower right side base panel since the controller is located behind that. That worked twice but now has died completly.

Exactly the same problem as posted. No resolution yet. Please help

Yes, the same thing is happening to me. I cleaned the oven a couple of days ago. This is the first time I have tried it since. The oven elements get warm, but no more than that. Lights, fan work. No heat or broil.

The problem I am experiencing is similar, When I turn the oven on there is a glow from both sides. After a few minutes the gas flows to the left oven burner. I replaced the gas valve and still have the same problem. If I disconnect the left side the right side will ignite. Any thoughts??

I am having the same problem listed here, either one side or no sides will light in the oven. Both sides glow and then one side will light , if you tap the valve the other side will light, but once the oven cycles off it will not come back on by itself. Replaced ignitors and gas valve. Was also told to kick lower part or oven.

I hate self clean functions - If you think about it - you should too. These ranges are equipped with electronic components and running self clean at 950 degrees will more than likely burn something out. A lot of complaints are because of the self clean. It's not worth it to self clean than to clean it yourself. And 200 dollars is a great price for something like this if it includes parts and labor. Good luck.

I have a Viking 48 6 Burner, Grill Professional Series Dual Fuel Range - VDSC485-6Q Dual Fuel Oven. When I try to use both ovens at the same time they shut off.

Have you got the correct supply to it for both ovens to operate? You'd be best off having it looked at by a service engineer, as they can carry out all the relevant checkers to ensure the gas and electric are adequate for the kw rating of your appliance

I have 48 " 6 burner stove natural gas.Stove is

the glass in the ovens should not crack when self clean is used. it could be that there was a minut crack in the glass or a build up of moisture in between to door windows that expanded at the extra heat but this should be brought up with the manufacturer for replacement.

I hope this was useful.

Viking model vdsc4874gss small oven works fine large oven element on bottom only gets hot in cleaniong mode, fan comes on when dial is turned to convection but no heat power is on light works

One thing that you can check is make sure that you have 220 volts at the plug. Leave the unit unplugged and check continuity on the burners. You should have continuity on the burners.

Viking oven not heating past 150 degrees

My viking oven had same issue - I needed to replace the ceramic ignitors (if ignitors fail to heat up properly the gas valve remains partially closed). Apparently they are intended to be replaced every 3-5 years. Also inspect and clean the oven burners - mine had corroded somewhat and prevented the flame from 'moving' to the opposite side - ie only half the burner was lighting. If you are handy the ignitors are very easy to replace - one screw, two wires each.

Oven will not work

It sounds like the Thermostat is defective.

Element can be removed from the front of the unit, it does not need to be pulled
