Always check the battery connections first because too many times it is a loose connection or battery bolt. it would happen more if you drive it a long distance, or up a hill and the controller over heats or if you are hitting a bump. when the controller cools down it drives again.

hi, if the freewheel lever is jammed which is located on the drive motor, take the rear cover off and make sure the lever is not bent,

you will see how the freewheel lever is mounted under normally a rubber cover on the side of the electric motor ,

SOURCE: the battery is fully charged but the scooter will not move.

Is it the small portable scooter? The one with the base that comes apart for transporting? Could it be a bad connection where it goes back together?

If it is the portable, try disconnecting the rear drive portion from the base and re-installing it so it clicks into place.

Battery fully charged everything works but will not move completley dead

Hi za900

You have several options to consider.
1. Controller is bad. This can only be checked by putting another controller on it. There is no test for controllers.

2. If the charger is bad your scooter will not run.

3. make sure your brake is in the lock position.

4. make sure your scooter is not plugged into the wall.

5. If your brake is bad the scooter won't run.

6. If your Throttle engager is bad the scooter won't run.

Have a tech evaluate for you, too many things could be the problem.

Any durable medical equipment company in your area can help you.

Good Luck

T he unit will not start. Is there a safety switch.i do not have the manual .

Hi dma11955

Not much info to go by, but I'll try.
1. Make sure your batteries are fully charged, load test them if you are not sure.
2. Make sure the charger is not plugged into the wall. The scooter won't work.
3. Make sure the moter brake lever is in the locked position. The scooter won't move in free wheel.
4. If you don't have and indication of power most likely you have a bad controller. Can't check a bad controller, just have to replace it, they are costly, so try everthing else first.
5.Sometimes a bad brake or charger will give the same symptoms.

Good Luck

Scooter will not move

Start with the batteries. They need to be fully charged for operation. Make sure the brake lever is in the locked position for travel. If all OK check the limit switch on the brake assembly to see if it is functioning properly. If it is not closing, then the scooter thinks the brake lever is in the push mode.

I have a 2002four wheel Legend Mobility scooter.

Hi. A lot of scooters have a seperate switch to select a high or low speed setting.
This switch is sometimes labeled indoor/ outdoor.
I have had a few scooters with a similar fault, and the wires that connect to the high/low switch have broken of the terminals on the rear of the switch.
It could also be a faulty speed control pot.
Check these and good luck. Neil.

Battery charger wont switch over to charge on a sonic scooter

The Sonic has an off board charger. IF the scooter is not charging, you may need to replace it. If you a technically inclined, you can measure the voltage out of the charger, it should be more than 28 V. You may need to contact Pride for more help.

New batteries, fully charged, still wont work

I will ask but don't take offence, so many people overlook the obvious, have you checked the free wheel lever/s are not set to free wheel (if it is the scooter will be relatively easy to push forward or backward) if set to free wheel then move lever/s to drive position

this is a link for the sonic scooter user guide, not 100% sure that it is the exact one or not but it should show you were to find the free wheel lock on your scooter it is in this guide and I would be surprised if it is not the same as yours. Hope that helps. Mark.
