My Dyson D44 won’t come on. The green light on the charger is blinking, even when charged overnight. Should I get a new battery and would it go from working fine to not charging at all in one day. Nothing happens when I press trigger. Even the max green light is t in.

I thought so but it worked fine yesterday. Would the battery die that quickly?

SOURCE: Even with a new battery

I was having the same problem. Roomba would run for 30 seconds and then stop. I tried everything -- then I took the small rubber brush out and removed the small nut at the end. It was packed with dust to the point that it could not turn easily. I cleaned it out and now it is working like a champ. I think the automatic shut down was just a sign that there was too much strain to turn the brushes.

SOURCE: Hi, this is our third Dyson DC-16.. the Trigger

How are you charging your battery? Every battery has a memory. If you dont let it die the first come times then charge to full the battery will assume 40% is 100%.

Testimonial: "Thank you for your solution, but we've had it at least a year.. it stays on charge when not in use.cleaned the connections.working better, not 100%.."

SOURCE: my dc 16 rechargeable vacuum won't work

far as i know the dyson dc 16 root 6 vacuum uses a lithium ion battery with a charge of 21.6 volts. it could be that either your battery isnt storing the right amount of power anymore and you may need to replace it. check on the specifications to confirm how much volts the battery is supposed to have. too little volts may be enough for things like lights to switch on, but not enough for the motor to start up.

Testimonial: "Thanks for that, It does look like the battery is shot. "

There is a red blinking light on my dyson when I first plug it in to be charged. Please advise

First, I'm not a Dyson Tech, but I have worked on battery operated recharge devices.
      * Is this new or second hand? Most chargers for any device will blink red if the charge on battery is so low that the charger will not recognize the battery. If so (old battery) then got to get a replacement (New) battery.
      Aloha, ukeboy57
FYI there is a slight possible fix for this old battery. But it's a long shot. Check on you tube on your specific battery "save ________ dead battery." (you force charge it to a reasonable level. But you didn't hear it from me ;-)

Hello. I have a Dyson dc59 and it will not charge. When I plug it in to the charger, a light blinks on the charger and the vacuum never charges. Help!

If you bought it new then you may get solution under warranty condition. Otherwise, you have to repair that from your local experts. As the battery is not charging but a light is blinking then I guess there some prob. inside the charging connection and battery or battery got damaged. Many possibilities there so best idea to make contact with repair man or you may but new one if the repair charge cost more from suppliers like "Vacuum Cleaner Helpers".

I have a Dyson vacuum cleaner cordless and is not charging the red light is blinking but there's no green light we have had it for about a year and a use it every day usually twice a day

An issue with the battery may lead to the charger not detecting, nor attempting to charge the battery. I've solved this in the past by leaving things on charge for an extended period of time (sometimes days at a time, but with frequent checks that it's not getting too hot), but your mileage may vary.

Worst case scenario, you may need a new battery or a new charger. You can buy cheap replacement chargers from China for under 10 dollars, but a battery may set you back more. I suggest buying a genuine Dyson battery if you can; a charger isn't as important to remain genuine.

Definitely look into whether you're still covered by warranty, as I know Dyson offer some pretty hefty after sales support these days (some 5+ years). If you are, give them a call and see if they can help.

Hi I have a Dyson handheld vacuum DC35 , when I plug the rechargeable battery in to charge the green light is just flashing and does not seem to hold charge

This means your battery is flat. When charging the battery if the green light on the charger is on then charge is getting to the battery. If the battery isn't holding a charge then you will need to replace the battery.

      Dyson dc31 won't charge

Sounds like the charger is bad. It is 24vdc output, so you can check with a voltmeter. It probably blew the fuse inside since it isn't lighting the green charge light. There are replacement chargers for this for under $20.

I bought Dyson DC16 in 2008. Charged full but it only last for 1 minuet. Should I get a new charger? Is Dyson going to send me a new charger?

Your battery is losing voltage too quick. It has probably developed a 'memory'. Dyson claims that their handheld has the best suction out of all the handhelds out there. In order to maintain that claim the circuit board will shut off power to the motor when the voltage drops below adequate charge for full suction.
We need someone who can teach us to bypass that part of the circuit so it won't cut power to the motor or you need to get a new battery.
Shorting the battery like an Aircraft battery then re-charging won't fix it.
