SOURCE: Magenta Near Empty??

This is only a reminder! The cart will show "empty" when it is really empty. You can print on until the printer stopps because of empty cart (and prints on when it is replaced).
Take the new on out and put it in again. answer display question with "1" (Yes, cart changed). "Near empty" Message will disappear.

SOURCE: Xerox Phaser 8500 Add Magenta Ink will not go out

it sounds like a sensor has failed in the ink cradle, to have a look you want to undo the two screws as the back on both sides then with the output flap & front cover open, you can gentley pull the plastic arround the display off, this will allow you to remove both the sides, the the ink cradle and melting units will jest lift out from the top, (make sure the printer is cold at this stage!!!!!!!!) then there are a few screws to remove then the unit will be in bits where you can test the bottom 'ink out sensor' & replace is needed.

SOURCE: The Magenta has stopped printing, but the ink tank

While changing the ink tanks there can be possible erros for the software to adjust with the new ink cartridge. So remove printer and reinstall the software, thenmake a test print , if the fault still shows up, a possible chance of the head being faulty is not ruled out.

Waste Full

More than likely the magenta cartridge is bad unless you have run a lot of magenta copies or prints and exhausted it.

If you are running an apple computer they do not always interperate themessages correctly from a Xerox printer.
You can fix that by making ABSOLUTLEY certain you have the right print driver installed!!!
Been there done that.

Keeps asking for ink and it has ink

Try removing, and then reseating the MAGENTA cartridge.

If you replace the MAGENTA toner-cartridge, does the problem go away?

We have a Phaser 7400. It continues to give us

If you've already changed out the toner cartridge and the problem persists, then it could be several other parts that are either defective, dirty or blocked.

You may want to contact a certified Xerox technician and have them look at the Imaging Unit Agitator Bar and the Low Toner Sensors for Cyan/Magenta. There could also be a faulty toner supply motor.

I have a xerox phaser 8500. At startup it states

The magenta toner (powder) in the cartridge is "piled up" to one side.

1. Remove the magenta cartridge.
2. Holding the cartridge ends with your hands, "rock" it side to side a few times, then "roll" it forward/backwards a few times.
3. Put back in printer.... it should work ok.
4. If not, then power OFF the printer and unplug the power cord from the wall or power strip.
5. Turn ON the printer with the power cord disconnected.
6. Plug power cord back in and turn on printer.
7. It should work ok now.

Hope this helps!

Printer will not print black.

Try removing the magenta completely and shut the lid then open again then insert the new magenta and see if the ink device level on the PC shows full. Sounds like the system needs resetting. Alternatively change the magenta and power on and off the printer and see if this resets it.
