I have a Amana,AP148D-RB air conditioner. Its been 33 for 5 days, its been shutting off, after 45-an hr,no indicaters. Will not start again til it's empty. Is it because of the high temp

Its an older model,had for 8 yrs,only use 2 month/ yrly. Up til now its been working fine,hardly need to be emptied Help Thanks, Dee

Not sure if you have fixed yet, but I had the same problem on my AP148D. There are 2 fans, 1 for the condenser (base of unit) and 1 for the evaporator (top of unit). My condenser fan disintigrated. Go to his web site and you will find a parts list for this model, and a distributer list http://service.haieramerica.com/Models.aspx?CID=231

Call this number and they have the parts in stock : 800-313-8495, mine shipped overnight. The parts are :

AC-8000-27 Wheel-blower condenser $21.81

AC-8000-26 Wheel-blower evaporator $21.81

I suspect you will need the first part. Hope this helps. Be careful to note where all the screws come from when dismantling !!!!

The pans are usually at the bottom of the unit. It may be a plug not a pan you remove to drain it.

Dehumidifing is a produce of air conditioning, I would be thinking of a way to drain the tank with a drain hose so it will run continues. The water should slow down if your house is tight, but will still be contunue to make condensate.

I cant find the booklet that goes with my Amana Portable Inroom AC. Model # ap148D

Scroll down to the All Parts section and then find the Use and Care Manual for $4.56. (It is a special order.)

However, you need to be a registered user (free registration) to access the link. Click on the Get This Manual button and the registration/login will pop up. This may be a similar enough manual to help you use the A/C.

Hello artrey3 The answer is yes, BUT the unit will be exausting room/basement air outside ruining any efficency the unit is rated for.Also you will need makeup/fresh air in the basement. The unit exausting air can put the basement in a vacuum/negitive pressure pulling in air from the chimney!

Don't bother. Couldn't find it either. If you have a Stop error try draining the water from the pan. its not sealed so be careful if you pick it up. I had that problem Amana was NO help. Started right back up!

Empty the water pan. It not sealed so dont slosh it around. Mine did the same thing. Amana rep was an ***. Wouldn't give me an inkling of what to do. So i started to fiddle around. There was a lot of water in it Be careful. I brought mine to the tub and drained it for close to 2 min. Started right back up!

My chevy drives for 45mins then shuts off

Your ignition module is bad. Known to stop working when it gets hot and work again after it cools off. Replace it. Good luck
