My DVD works fine, but I can't play a VHS. How do I connect or adjust so I can play Vhs? I have a GoVideo Dv2140

No, it's a playback only DVD player and VHS recorder.

The GoVideo DV2140 does not contain a DVD writer. It can only play DVDs and copy them to VHS tape.

no its just dvd player you can not record.If still need record on dvd then first input in your computer via tv/tuner card as a audio and video in put.then play vhs and record dvd from computer.

Did it EVER work as expected with VCR audio through the HDMI or are we working through that right now assuming it can?

I don't have a detailed manual, but the rear panel clearly shows some analog-only outputs (and NO digital ones) for the section called DVD/VCR. Internally, I'm sure there are proper analog-digital-converters for recording VHS to the native DVD-R, but VHS VCR's are NOT inherently digital audio devices so I'm pretty sure you need to run an analog RCA pair for the VHS video.

VHS records program but when play back, picture good, but no sound? Whats my problem?
