SOURCE: need replacement bulbs for over-range hood

These are 20W 120V bulbs with what's called the intermediate base. The new Panasonic part number is ANE6030540AP and you can get them at Tritronics at or Vance Baldwin at You should also be able to get them at local appliance parts stores, Lowe's (or similar) or even a large grocery store. You can also use Sharp part # RLMPT0003YBE0 from either of the above sites.

SOURCE: Light doesn't work on Kenmore Model 55022 Range hood...

If you have 120VAC on the center contact of the light socket, and a working fan, but the bulb won't light...the most likely cause would be a disconnected neutral wire (white) in the light wiring inside the hood....assuming everything else is wired correctly.

If you're comfortable with further electrical testing...let me know, and I can describe a detailed procedure to check the status of the neutral wire. Otherwise, you may need the assistance of someone familiar with electrical troubleshooting or appliance repair.

SOURCE: Light doesn't work on Kenmore Model 55022 Range hood...

If you're getting 120V at the lampholders, yet it's not lighting lamps that still work perfectly well in other fittings, two possibilitiesspring to mind.

One is that the cap on the bulbs isn't quite compatible with the fitting. Assuming they're some variant of Edison Screw, make sure that the centre terminal in the lampholder is sticking out far enough to touch the terminal on the bulb. Also check whether the lampholder achieves it's outer connection just with a small tab, rather than with the whole of the threaded ring. If so, make sure that this is going to touch the appropriate part of the bulb.

The other possibility is that you've got a high resistance connection somewhere - not enough of an open circuit to drop the 120 V when feeding the Megohm load presented by a meter, but more than enough to kill the supply when you have a lamp load. Only way to chase this is to use the meter on ohms range to bell out all the wiring between the lampholders and bits of the system which do work properly.

SOURCE: cavaliere 218 series range hood light stopped

We have the same exact problem with our--218 series. The lights started going out, then just stopped coming on at all. It is not the bulbs--other people are having this problem. It must be a manufacturing issue.

Can't get the head lamp bulbs out removed The cover unplugged the light pulled the Wire harness down but the bulbs won't Budge

Almost all headlight bulbs have a bayonet mount with a rubber gasket. The bulbs have to be turned about 1/4 turn, usually counterclockwise, to remove them. If you have the new bulb, look closely at the mount on it. It will be helpful in knowing how the bulbs are installed. If the bulb has contacts that you push into the holder, the holder is what you need to get out. It will have the bayonet mount. Sometimes the bayonet is hard to turn if the gasket is stuck to the housing. However, don't use any solvent or lubricant because if it gets into the housing it can damage the mirror coating. Even moisture inside the housing can damage the coating, so be sure you install the new bulb correctly with the gasket in place. Be sure not to touch the new bulb with your bare fingers. The oil from your skin will burn on the bulb surface and shorten its life and light output. Never touch any halogen bulb with your bare fingers.

Replace 2008 Buick Lucerne rear blinker

When attempting this task, I was befuddled initially. I contacted Buick directly, and was given a mess of non-responsive, one size fits all, baloney.
After about three emails, each written at a higher notch on the anger level, I was contacted by several "customer service" people. The last of the calls informed me that Buick had checked around and found the best deal at one of their dealers to replace the blinker bulb. It could be accomplished, I was advised, for the low price of $74.00, $20.00 for the bulb and $54.00 for the labor. No way.
The bulb costs $1.50 to $2.50 at the auto parts store and some gas stations. It took me 20 minutes to do the job with an adjustable wrench.
Here's how.
1. Open trunk and unscrew the knobs to which the trunk netting is attached.
2. Pull up on the plastic lining to release the pop pin that secures the lining to the trunk edge (slide your fingers under the plastic and pull straight up).
3. Push the lining toward the middle of the trunk, and you'll see three bolts pointing toward the front of the car. They have nut/washer combinations on them.
4. My guess is that the nuts are metric, as 7/16ths is too big, and 3/8ths is too small. I used an adjustable wrench. Not much more that one half turn (counterclockwise) will make the nuts hand turnable.
5. Remove the nut/washers, then tap with your wrench on each of the bolts.
6. The whole taillight assembly comes out of the back end of the rear fender like a big wedge of apple pie.
7. Twist the bulb socket out of the light fixture, then remove the bulbs from their sockets. Both bulbs pull straight out of their sockets.
8. Install new bulbs, and reverse process above.
NOTE: There is a plastic finger that extends from the taillight assemble toward the front of the car. The finger is about 1 1/4 inches long. Slide that finger into the corresponding hole in the rear of the fender, then the bolts into their appropriate holes.
Twenty minutes labor plus the trip to the auto parts store for the bulbs.
This means the flat rate hour for this type of work is $162.00, an absolute rip, not to mention the 1000% mark-up on the bulbs.

How do I access the interior map lamp housing and remove to replace a lamp?

You need to remove the overhead console to get to the bulb holder.

Open the rear compartment, and pull down grasping the rear corners with your finger and thumb.

The 1st time you pull it down is hard, the spring clips do not move that easy the 1st few times.

Once the rear releases, you can work your way around the console, pulling loose the spring clips.

The bulbs are held in from the back using 1/4 turn bulb holders.

How to change front bulbs for turn signal for 1997 Grand Jeep Cherokee

You will need a star screw driver and a phillips screw driver. First locate the screw on the outside between the turn signal lens and the side marker lens, looken that screw. Next, with the hood open, locate a metal piece coming from the turn signal body. That metal piece (about an 1 1/2 inch long) has a star screw. Unscrew it. Pull the turn signal body off its place. Grab the connector with your right hand (thumb and index finger), turn it counter clock wise, about one centimeter. When you feel it loose, just pul gently the connector and it should come out withe the bulb. Replace the bulb and put the conecto back turning it clock wise. Reassemble all again. That should take care of it.

Try to do these 3 things.1 - Restart your console.
2 - Take out all cables, and plug them back in.
3 - Take out the hard-drive, and place it back in your PS3 console.

Try this to take the disc out:
1. turn the PS3 off from the back
2. Put a finger on eject button
3. then turn PS3 on from back with finger still on eject button
4. disk should come out

How do you change a license plate light on a 2005 Ford Escape?

I just replaced one of the license plate lights on my '05. Gently push the housing toward the center of the car as you pry under the outside edge, and it will pop out. Remove the socket from the housing by twisting it 1/4 turn. The bulb is the push-in type commonly used for marker and dash lights. I always spray some Radio Shack electrical contact cleaner into the socket before inserting a new bulb - helps make a good contact and prevents corrosion. Hope this helps!

1981 corvette instrument panel lamp replacement

I'll tell you, but when you go to do it, you'll probably curse Chevrolet, your car, and me! lol!

You have to reach behind the dash. Even with the seat in the back position, you'll turn into a contortionist! Place an old couch cushion, or something similar on the ground/driveway next to the car, with the door open. Kneel on the couch cushion. Reach up under the dash, and back behind it, with your left hand, while holding onto the steering column with your right.

It's hard to describe this to someone who has never done this before. (Just think. You'll be the expert, when someone you know asks you, when you're done!)

You are feeling for a plastic bulb holder. This holder is about the size of a dime. It resembles one of a gas stove's knobs. It has a round base, and from the middle of the base, it comes up into rectangular shape. If you look at this -> T <- the base is the top of the T. Turn the T upside down, and you'll have the basic shape.

This plastic holder has the lamp bulb in it. You turn it to the RIGHT.
As you face the instrument cluster, it is turned to the Right. You just turn it one quarter turn, then it will come out.
Once you get one in your hand, you'll know why it was difficult to describe. You'll also immediately see how it turns in, and locks into place.

The bulb itself it extracted, by holding the bulb holder in your hand, bulb facing you. You push in, and turn the bulb to the Left.
It is at this point, that I advise you to wear some protective gloves of some kind. The bulb base, could be corroded down in the socket. You may exert enough force to break the bulb, and cut your fingers.
I advise Safety above ALL ELSE!

I also advise that you replace one bulb at a time.
Notice the brass metal ring around the bulb holder base?
This corrodes after time, giving a poor contact. You can take a little fine steel wool, and clean it up. Use care as the steel wool can catch, and bend the brass ring, misshaping it.

Behind the dash panel that you can't see, is a thin plastic flat strip.
Another thing hard to describe. Envision a large U shaped flat piece of plastic, on the back of your instrument housing. The U shape will be upside down, in relation to how it sits on the back of the instrument housing. It's about 1/32nd of an inch thick, and about 2 inches wide.

There are thin flat strips of copper, making a path all the way around this strip. There are holes in this strip, for the various lamp bulbs. The flat copper strips go around these holes, making a connection to the bulb holder. That's what that brass ring on the bulb holder contacts, when it's screwed in.

Change ford festiva front light bulb

Hello, the front light bulbs are easily changed by twisting the plastic holder in the back of the lamp that holds the bulb counter-clockwise. You turn it about a 1/4 turn and then it pulls out and you can switch bulbs. Do not touch the new bulb with your fingers because oil from your fingers will cause the bulb to burn out quickly.
