Correct me if I'm wrong , but isn't the XL80 an 80% efficiency gas powered, forced air furnace? If that is true, there should be no water coming from anywhere unless rain is coming in the chimney. An 80%er isn't a condensing furnace, so its not condensate. Are there other utilities like a water heater or tank that are in the same vicinity? That is much more likely. XL80 Trane

SOURCE: furnace doesn't heat the burners

Hi,

The flame sensor is not sensing that the flame has come on....the flame sensor could be dirty or the could be ignition module problems...

I am assuming that this is not a new installation....because reveres polarity can cause that also....

I would clean/ replace the flame sensor first and then from the the control board will ned to be replaced if that don't work.....

Have had to drive a totally separate ground rod and ground the furnace separately in one extreme case...

I would recommend this. I'm not sure this will work, but I think it will.
Try starting from scratch. Reprogram the unit to the car again, I think the codes change each time it is done. If not, it's not too difficult to try.

I HAVE A TRANE XR80 FURNACE THAT IS LEAKING WATER INTO MY NEIGHBOR'S GARAGE I LIVE IN A CONDO. IT ONLY HAPPENS WHEN I RUN THE A/C. WHAT WOULD CAUSE THIS?

Sounds like a drain issue. A/C will produce water (via condensation) and that is normal and okay. Look for a missing or dislodged hose. The water needs to happen, just not leak where you don't want it.

Trane XL80 downdraft furnace intermitant eratic ignition

Erratic ignition like what exactly? Comes on runs for a few minutes or seconds then turns off gas then tries again? Or erratic it won't fire the gas at all? Can you be more specific?

Brand New 2 weeks old 4 ton Trane compressor leaks a lot of water onto pad

If the unit is running in cold weather than there is ice building up on the coils located outside. This is normal in that the unit is running in heat pump mode heating inside and cooling outside, After the unit detects the ice build up it briefly reverses the cycle heating the outside coils melting(defrosting) the ice which you observe as water on the pad.

The video gives you an example of the defrost cycle!

No heat through vents

Does your condo have more than one thermostat? if so there are powered dampers that open and close to direct heat where it's being called for. You may have dampers stuck/inoperative.
