It looks like it plays a format called MJPEG at 14 fps. The SanDisk Media Converter comes with it, and can convert most popular formats to play on the e250.

Regarding video

You must use the Sansa Media Converter to transfer videos. If the video is DRM-protected (many of Real's movies are), it may not actually convert. But if the video is DRM-free, then the Sansa Media Converter will perform the conversion and load the video onto the player. The Sansa Media Converter may or may not recognize certain file formats, so you may need to download an additional program such as Riva FLV Encoder to convert the Real video to AVI format first - then the Sansa Media Converter will recognize the file.

The Sandisk Sansa is a good mp3 player the only thing is that, most mp3 players that can play videos reuqire a certain format. the sandisk sansa will play a couple types like WMV, AVI, if you have a video that you want on it that isn't the correct format go to google and search for free video converter software. and that should solve you question.
