SOURCE: Power problem

NO POWER Maybe you have a faulty Power Cord try replacing that first. Secondly check your powersupply's Fan if its turning. Lastly check your power button maybe its defective. SWITCH PROBLEMS A trick can be done here. Unplug it then spray the switch (Soaked) with warm distilled water with mild soap. then let it dry using a Hair Dryer. Then test! If failed, Replace the switch. If Persists then There is a problem with the Main Board or Power Driver. FOR LONG BEEPS, ONE SHORT BEEP IN AN ENDLESS LOOP, BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH AT STARTUP Try using Memtest 86+ http://www.memtest86.com/ to diagnose your memory problem. You can also try the following methods. Turn off power, Unplug. Remove the cover of your PC. Remove the memory from the Motherboard. Note on the locks! Clean the memory contacts with an eraser yes that's right a rubber Pencil eraser. It should be shiny gold. Reseat your memory to the motherboard and Test! ====================== If you are having trouble with Newly bought items save your self from headaches by returning them and demand a replacement or a refund! You may have purchased a reconditioned\repaired\factory defect product.

SOURCE: Yaesu FT-50R battery drain

I have the same radio.

Does the radio work? Could it be the battery that's getting hot?

SOURCE: Yaesu Ft-50 hard to turn on

The rubber power button is impregnated with carbon and when pressed, it makes contact with two points on the printed circuit board, turning on the radio. This button eventually wears out and needs to be replaced, which is a rather easy process.

I've performed the operation four times - takes about 15 minutes. The button is available from Yaesu.

I also tried "repair kits" for these buttons which are supposed to replace the conductive surface. Both times, they failed again within a couple of weeks.

The upside is the new button is not as quite as tall as the original and requires depressing it below the surface of the case to switch, which prevents accidently turning off the radio.

Good luck, and 73

SOURCE: ICOM IC-A6 Feedback type interference

I have the David Clark H10-13.4 and had the feedback problem on ground ops, by using a TDK wrap around ferrite choke on the boom closest to the headset will solve this problem. It is a perfect fit for the DC headsets, the number on the side is ZCAT2035 these are the chokes provided with the Icom wall charger...take it off the wall charger cord and snap it on the boom arm, problem solved.

857d internal battery

Yo, STAN!

Wow ~ I've looked and looked for a "internal battery" for your 857D and NONE are to be found. Older models had 'memory batteries' but your 857D (apparently) has none.

By the way, if you don't have one, here is your Service Manual:
http://www.n4brf.org/PDF/FT-857%20Service%20Manual.pdf

Stan, a 81 page SEARCH for "BATTERY" had zero hits!

Yaesu 857D very poor audio out on SSB.

Dbl check your swr in am mode.. Ch your ssb power and mic gain default is 50 on both on hf .. If you use the mh-59 you will need to reduce the mic gain to 35 and it needs to be set for remote mic in the menu. Also the ssb needs to be set 2.5k wide with the ssb carrier zeroed both tx and rx

VHF/UHF RF Power falls to Zero when the Auto ATU tunr logo is on the display. When the tunr logo is off the VHF/UHF RF power is only 10 watts on 2M and 3 watts on 70cms. The Yaesu FT 857 D should have no...

Check for open or shorted Veractor diodes and steering diodes there may be no direct interaction as you say but if a diode is open or shorted the RF circuits might still be selected for the higher bands and the lower output power on your vhf/uhf is an indication of this.
If you do not have a service manual you can get one hear, you will likely kneed one

What's your problem?yaesu 857d service manuel

Hi,

Yaesu 857D service manual, right?

Are you looking for a downloadable copy or making one available?

If you are looking for a downloadable copy, say so, otherwise as you can tell, we're just guessing, which doesn't help anyone.

If you're making one available for other to download, then I would like to buy you a drink, because this would be so appreciated by yours truly and others with that same said model.

So, which one of the above is it, let us know and we'll respond ASAP.

Cheers,
Peter
