Neither of my TV's can get any of the PBS SoCal statios, from 50-1 to 50-5. "No Signal," going on three days now. Why?

If you like to activate PBS on your Roku 3, and then do the following activation steps one by one.
1. Go to the Roku home screen and type "PBS" on Search Box.



2. And Select the PBS from the search list.
4. Once loading is completed click "Go to Channels".
5. Copy the seven-digit number from the displayed screen.
6. Then open the web browser from any one of the devices.
7. Go to the pbs.org/activate and enter the activation code here.
8. Click Continue for the PBS Activation.

try installing a tv signal amplifier on the line from the antenna just before the tv. Tv stations put out differing amts of power, one could be stronger than the other.

Do any other OTA channels break up on this TV? Look through your setup options menu for a TV reset (memory or restore default or a similar command) . Do the reset and exit the menus (save the action on most TVs); then return and rescan the OTA channels.

On a different brand of TV this worked. The channel had broken up for several weeks; the reset was used when the channel finally became totally corrupted (no video on one sub-channel, no audio on the other).

Some tuners need a stronger signal to be stable; you may need an amplifier on your antenna.

It sounds like you need a three way splitter.
You need to reverse the connections; the splitter has input and out. Hook exterior antenna, converter box, and satellite to the three side terminals (out). Hook the single sided terminal to VCR input. Connect the VCR out to the TV input. This configuration assumes that you will be using the VCR to record from all inputs. The TV has to be set to channel 3 to act as a monitor for your other devices.
Hope this solves your dilemma.

Make sure the antenna//cable TV connections are correct. Channels are set. If this unit is connected to a cable/satellite box, select the local PBS station on them to set the clock automatically.

There's an Auto Clock Setting. "This Unit can set the time and date automatically by reffering to a PBS station.". But I never had to do that, I just went to Setup and it already knew what the date and time was.

"Note: The clock may set itself automatically after you connect the antenna/cable signal and plug in the power cord. Only the analog PBS channel signal is effective for auto clock setting. The unit receives the clock data at 12:00 A.M./P.M. from the PBS channel when the power is off.

1 Press [SETUP] and use the up and down arrows to select "General Setting", then press OK.
"General Setting" menu will appear.

2. Use up and down arrows to select "Clock" then press OK.
"Clock" menu will appear.

3. Use up and down arrows to select "Auto Clock Setting", then press OK.

4. Use up and down arrows to select "Auto" then press OK.

5 Press SETUP to exit.

6. Press STANDBY-ON to turn off the unit.
This unit will search for the time only when the power is off. Leave it off for several minutes to give this unit time to set the clock.

If the unit chooses an incorrect PBS channel, set the PBS channel manually by following the steps below:

1. Select "Manual" at step 4, then press OK.
2. Use [the number buttons] or up and down arrows to enter your PBS channel number, then press OK.
3. Press SETUP and turn off the unit.

If this doesn't work, let me know and I'll type up the instructions for what to do if you need to actually set the clock manually.

PBS in my area says that my cable provider, Time Warner is no longer using the analog signal that contains TV Guide On Screen info. They did this to prepare for digital in Feb. Time Warner says they are waiting for Gemstar/Macrovision to provide a method for the On Screen feature to work. My source at PBS reckons there are over 25,000 cable card TV's that may lose this On Screen Guide. Apparently there is no legal requirement for TV Guide or your cable provider to send the guide.
Users may want to try and contact TV-Guide/Gemstar/Macrovision directly at their toll free number
1-800-386-7380. This may not be a solution but it may be a consolation for users wanting to know why they have lost their TV Guide On -Screen.

Most likely the TV Guide is broadcast from the OTA PBS channel. I don't know why its being lost. I'm thinking its probably a firmware problem of some sort. Adding the PBS channel back in, making sure the signal comes in ok and leaving the TV off for a while might help.
