SOURCE: Just installed the OptiCover Range Extender and now my speeds to connected devices is slower that going directly to my WIFI modem. What is wrong?

Did you connect to the new device? It should have a different ID.

I purchased a ac 1200 Opticover range extender. It is calling for a password when i try to connect my ROCU TV. I do not have a password that works. Can you help me?

There should be a way to convince the extender to use the router's password. I had one at one time, but don't remember the details. I now use the type that plugs into the router, into the 110 wall outlet with another device at the receiving device.

In brief, all you need to do is to set your extender the same way your router is set, including WiFi IP, security type, wireless channel, password, radio type. You need to know your access IP by using network cable plugged into your extender to program it. Search the Internet for a manual. It should not take more that 5 min to do.

Hello -

Depending upon where (in your home?) you use your Sony Vaio laptop (via WiFi?) you may need a WiFi booster or extender. Or, you may find that moving your WiFi router to another location in your home will improve your connection without diminishing the connections for other laptops used in your home.

Perhaps the information here will prove instructive:

Note: If the router needs to be moved in your home, you will probably need a technician for your Internet provider to come to your home to relocate it and connect it properly.

Hi, I have a universal wifi range extender wn2000rpt installed and a wireless adapter installed aswell. Now reading the next set of instructions it tells me to connect to NETGEAR_EXT, open a browser and...

NETGEAR_EXT is the name or SSID of the extender. ie Netgear EXTender ;-]
What you need to do is first search for available wireless networks. It should show up there as NETGEAR_EXT if it is running and far enough away from your wifi.
Then open your web browser which should then open the connection wizard . If not you can try If you can't see it you may need to connect to it using a wire so you can set it up. sometimes if it is really messed up you may need to reset it to factory default.
