SOURCE: Removing Yamaha rear tire (1100 Classic)

do you mean remove the wheel? tires are best left to a shop to do as they have the machine. drive shaft yes? undo all bolts thru frame to final drive casing. slacken wheel nut but do not remove spindle, pull wheel back and out of the frame the drive shaft comes with it, tace out spindle and now lift final drive from wheel, there may be a spacer which might fall out. done deal..

SOURCE: need to know the tire size...

Ok, if it is the base model the tire size from the factory is 205/ 70 r15. Otherwise it is 205/70 r14. Obviously the difference is the rim size which you can get by measuring with a tape measure. Measure the rim diameter and if it is 14 across then it is the second one, if it is 15 across it is the first one. The tire shop can also help with this. FYI, the cheapest place I have found for new tires is Walmart.

Tyre pressures

Look around the tire and you should find the max inflation pressure for the tire. The pressure info will be smaller than the tire size info but it will be there somewhere.

Okay, that is the max pressure. It is probably 45psi. Try 45 psi and if you want a bit softer ride go to 40 then 35 then 30 until you find the inflation pressure that gives you the desired ride without being squirrely. I think 35psi is where you will settle.

Please rate this answer. Thanks!
