hi. it seenm like the printer software is frozen, try to unplug the power source for a few hours and try again, if problem persist get technical support
If you do not have the CD that came with the printer you will need to go the CANON website and download the driver program that is compatible with your operating system. usa.canon.com

Type in your model number. After downloading you will have to run it to decompress the manual.
It suggests that you clean some internal parts.
one thing u could try is t turn main power off then hold down the 1 and 9 keys and turn on main power things will take about 20 minutes to do then it will come up with down load mode turn power off.. if that does not work it will need a new hard drive they do go bad in these machines..good luck
I believe it's a counting sensor ( or something like that) look up your model on google, and 'reset counter', should have instructions might be as simple as taping over a lever inside printer
It is probably due to dust on the sensor, or sensor alignment not properly done. In both cases you have to take the camera to a Canon dealer for servicing.
