Vizio logo is an indicator that the tv is live n changes to white that the screen is on meaning if no change to white the smps switch mode power supply board ain't switching the mother board....diagnosis is its MOSFET transistors need replacement or the smps board n ya tv will be fine

This is an LED unit and you need to verify that the LED strips are not pulling too much current.

I have a toshiba 55L621U it powers up to the main splash screen then cuts out after about 8 seconds. it gets 5v over to the logic board. not sure what to check next.

Check your other voltages coming out of the power board and see if they drop off when the set shuts down, all the 5 volts does is supply standby voltage and that should be there all the time even if the set is off. A suspect on this set is LED lamps in the panel but it could be other things as well

My Toshiba Portege M200 just stopped charging and wont even turn on? Is this the battery? Or what? The charger will be plugged in the wall and plugged in the laptop but nothing?

Try removing the battery and see if it will boot without it
Then check the caharger, charging light should be green and steady on the charger itself
If it is flickering, it meand power is not making a circuit, test charger jack with a DC volt multimeter with one probe to the outer side (earth) and one on the inner (positive). If this is ok, check the charging socket is not loose (if it is, will need replacing).

After that, suspect the power strip or charging / powerboard is dead on the motherboard

May be a bad power jack or the powercord/ac adapter may not be putting out enough power.Your powerboard may need to be replaced or even the button itself may not be getting contact to the board itself.

WON'T TURN ON.

Powerboard damaged, if you could not see the Led light on stanby mode it means you have no power at all.

Go ahead and replace your powerboard and your TV will be Ok

Sounds like a faulty power supply. Depending on the model, size, etc. it may be easier to ship it somewhere or bring it to a store. For the most part, they run anywhere from $150 - $350 plus installation.

If you are pretty good with electronics, comment back with the model # and brand of your TV set, and I will look up for you a place to purchase one. However, I wouldn't reccomend purchasing and installing one yourself unless you are sure that you can handle it.

you may need to replace the powerboard in the unit. it sounds like it might have fried already or is on the verge of it.
