I have a Sony Cyber-Shot DSC W-1 with the same problem: I put brand new batteries in and they only last for a few pictures and then seem to short out. I bought this camera in 2004 and up until this very recent problem, its always worked perfectly. I would appreciate any help or suggestions.

Do you use alkeline batteries? if yes then they would end in 20-25 shots. Instead, use rechargable batteries of 2500 mah which will last long, very long. On my Cybershot H1, they give aproximate 350 shots with single recharge.

Go for Sony Original Batteries or Uniross brand also works fine.

2300 mah/ 2500 Mah any will work.. :-)

I have a nextbook 7 or 8 tablet. it no longer charges in any way, and it gets extremely warm when connected to a charger no mattet how short a time it is plugged in for.

Lithium ION batteries are usually rechargeable. The use mode for these batteries is that there are a set number of recharges that equate to the life of the battery. Usually that life is approximately 1,000 charges.
If you use your battery to 50% then recharge, you can do this ~2,000 times. As the life of the battery is used up, the maximum charge lessens which means where you may have had 8 hours of play time when the battery was new, you will only have 6 hours as the battery life is used up.
In order for a Lithium ION battery to recharge there must be at least a small amount of charge left as a "seed" for that recharge. If you drain a L-ION battery down to zero, it may never recharge again or the max charge will be reduced to an insignificant amount of the original full charge. eg instead of 8 hours you may only get 15 minutes, or 5 minutes, or no minutes.
You are much better off recharging when 50% depleted than using it up til your product stops.
L-ION batteries cannot be repaired only replaced. Most cheap products using L-ION batteries cannot have their batteries replaced.

Short battery life with AAs or camera won't even power up on new batteries?

Many digital cameras (eg Samsung D53, Nikon 2100) have extremely poor battery life with alkaline batteries (under 20 shots!). Sometimes they won't even take a single picture.

Try using rechargeable batteries or "oxyride" disposable batteries. They perform infinately better.

Bought a brand new LG env3 cellular phone from Verizon on 10/28. Replaced phone 3 times since because it won't hold a charge and the battery case gets hot. The battery depletes itself with 2 hours....

Check out this link below to download a PDF manual, software, and more for your phone. Just copy and paste into your browser.

The Battery on page 20 of your manual.

From page 125 in your manual:
Recharge the battery after long periods of non-use to maximize
battery life. Battery life will vary due to usage pattern and environmental conditions.

From page 146 in your manual:
The limited warranty for the product extends for TWELVE (12) MONTHS beginning on the date of purchase of the product with valid proof of
purchase, or absent valid proof of purchase, FIFTEEN (15) MONTHS from date of manufacture as determined by the unit's manufacture date
code.

2000 olds intrigue. I had battery light come on, shortly followed by tach, speedo and other dash gages & lights going min to max, weak power windows, with any and all combinations of dashboard lights...

I think the diode block in the alternator is on it's way out. The output voltage from the alternator should be approximately 14 volts. When the alternator output is lower than the battery output, the car runs on the battery until it is depleted. That is why the car stops.

Very basically, it means that either the alternator output voltage is lower than the battery voltage, or the battery voltage is lower than the alternator output voltage. If the light gets dimmer as you rev up the engine, then you most likely have a problem with the alternator. If it gets brighter, then the battery is most likely bad. google_protectAndRun("ads_core.google_render_ad", google_handleError, google_render_ad);

When my computer is on battery, it lasts less than 10 minutes. I unplug it and its start with almost 100% battery life and it depletes almost right away.

The battery has depleted cells. I hate that it is bad but try a battery with more cells, it will last longer. Seems the cheaper our laptops get, the weaker the battery life.

Acer Aspire 5580 poor battery

Its time for a new battery. After a period of time of using a battery, the amount of charge it can hold depletes. Even if you always have it plugged in. Usually, batteries only last 18-24 months which is sad, seeing how much they cost. I'm a computer tech and see this problem everyday first hand. The best thing you can do is buy a battery from eBay and save yourself a bunch of money. Local retail stores charge up to 3 times as much for a battery. Good luck and I hope this helps..... :>)

Batteries are Depleted

A camera rep told me that use about 2500mi (?) batteries instead of the 900 I was using otherwise the batteries will be depleted with just one picture. Digital cameras or any other digital piece of equipment needs the extra power. Make sure that your charger will charge the 2500 power ones fully.
