I have an old royal sovereign arp900e portable ac unit. It recently stopped blowing cold air. Everything else works properly. Also, when I went to drain it before it quit, there wasn't hardly any water came out. It wasn't very humid yet and had it on for about a week off n on. It worked perfectly fine lasr summer.

SOURCE: Coleman Evron CH/CA unit won't blow the air through the vents

Relay for fan operation in the cooling mode may be bad and not bringing on the blower for the air.

SOURCE: nissan 2000 ac hot when idle

the a/c condenser has a fan in front ( there is actually 2 fans if you sit on the car it will be fan on right side ) if this fan does not
come on immediately when you are parked and engine in idle
there is a problem with power to it, or motor failure. If you drive it
on the highway and a/c operates fine that's because air is circulating though condenser (thats what the fan is supposed to do at idle or slow traffic)

SOURCE: carrier air-v AC is not blowing cold air

There could be a freon leak, or just low freon levels. If this is the case, you have to call a certified a/c technician to recharge your system.

SOURCE: window ac unit is not blowing cold air

When the unit is running, go outside and put your hand near the condenser fins, this air that comes out should be slightly warmer than the ambient temp. If it is not you will need to take the unit out of the window and out of its outer case and clean the condenser fins from the inside, this is no easy task as it is very hard to reach. You will want to get a small (toothbrushed sized) brass bristled brush with a long handle. Make sure the evaporator coil (in the front) recieves the same attention and wash the mesh filter that goes in front of the evaporator. Re- assemble and enjoy the cold air.

SOURCE: My AC unit wont blow the cold air.

No, you probably have a bad evaporative fan motor, capacitor or switching. It usually takes a Pro 1/2 hour to track down such a problem with good training.

the unit is not draining properly. unplug it from the current outlet, check behind there should be two places to drain the machine. unplug the two drain plugs in the back and let the water empty out. the e4 error message comes up when the unit is filling up with water.

Machine works fine just doesn't blow cold air any more. Can it be recharged?

Why assume it needs refrigerant? How did it stop cooling? Suddenly? Or slowly over time. Typically a sudden failure tends to be an electrical issue - bad switch, bad thermostat, compressor or related component failure.

Whereas a slow degrading in performance typically tends to be a leak in the refrigerant circuit.

If it needs recharging don't forget that it has a leak - and the new refrigerant will also leak out unless the leak is repaired.

The problem with fixing these small units is that the repair costs can easily exceed the value of the unit.

If this is the kind I'm thinking of the condensate tank needs to be emptied of water.
