Hi I have a defy washing machine dtl139 it shows E5 meaning child lock is on how do I deactivate the child lock

I couldn't find a manual for the Defy DT153. However, the directions for the DT151 might help, https://www.manualslib.com/manual/1143848/Defy-Dtl151.html?page=11#manual . Make sure that the machine is powered first. To toggle the child lock on and off, press Wash and Rinse simultaneously. If you look at the image on the above page, you will note there is a line between the two buttons with a padlock symbol. Look for a similar padlock on the DT153 control panel for the child lock option on your machine. On other machines, you have to hold the buttons for several seconds (3-10) until the machine responds. If you hold the buttons too long, the lock will re-engage.

In order to deactivate the Child lock press and hold the Drying Level button (till the`lock`symbol disappears from the display).

There is usually a child lock button on the washing machine. Press and hold this button for 3-5 seconds and it should deactivate the child lock.

This is what i found out from the internet so not sure if this will help you out.
E4 error means that the tub is unbalanced. You either filled the washer unevenly, or you are trying to wash something too heavy or too large. Take everything out of the machine, and then re-arrange it and put it back in. If you are still getting the error, you need to wash less clothes at a time.

Another possibility is that your sensor needs replacing, the sensor that tells you how full the tub is and when it's off balance. For that, you need to call a repairman.

Regarding your information, I would say Child lock has been activated. I do not know what model or serial number of your dryer but you need to refer your machine's user manual or contact Bosch for deactivate child lock. I hope that helps. Thanks.
