Wireless connectivity problems (Qosmio G10 and Satellite A110)

I have had a Qosmio G10 for almost 3 years now and, at least w.r.t. my wireless connection everything went well until a few days ago. I started losing the ability to connect to a WLAN after coming out of sleep mode (Win XP MCE): the computer would not connect to my WLAN and would keep hopping among the various WLANS available in the neighbourhood, without connecting since they all secured. The problem could be solved by restarting both the computer and the router. Now even that does no longer work. I can either see all WLANS, including, mine, without being able to connect or I see no WLANS at all. Both the Windows and ConfigFree tray icons show the little red cross and the system won't budge. I have tried anything that came to my mind, repair connection, enable/disable WZC, install new driver for Intel2200, install new version of ConfigFree..... I don't know what else to do before deciding to reinstall Windows anew (oh dear oh dear). Incidentally, and quite surprisingly, a family member just started having exactly the same problem on a Toshiba Satellite A110. Can anyone pleeeeease help?

When posting the laptop shows the toshiba splash screen, then the next screen is a gray and white character repeated? My charger was stolen,so I can't go any further until the new one arrives.

The solution seems to work well on the Qosmio but not on the other Toshiba (the Satellite A110): there seems to be no way to "wake up" the wireless card (intel 3495). I have installed a USB wireless adapter and it does work. Any additional ideas? Thanks.

Ok solution to this problem is simple! First determine if there are Wireless household phones around! 2.4 GHZ. These phones use the same exact frequency your Router does, and wireless cards. Channels I believe 8,6,and 11. Your phone hops between these when a call comes through and the channel is not clear. So hence the problem. Now another problem would be that the your firewall is not allowing your PCs to connect to the wireless network. So you may need to let down your firewall to reestablish connection. The other solution would be to erase all of the web access points you have visited from your network connections settings tool properties. Sometimes when this gets filled you card will not be able to scan a new network. The other solution would be to plug in the information manually into your Network adapter. These are all simple fixes! If this does not help drop me a line. I have plenty more answers! I cannot put them all down considering I only know based on the limited information!
