If you remove the base of the deck and operate it whilst looking underneath you should see what's happening and if the unit has any damage. In fact you might even see the damage when you remove the bottom side.

I can't find either model you mention anywhere but a turntable without a built-in PHONO preamp will require an external on to drive any input not marked explicitly for PHONO.

Do you have an adjustable piece at the end nearest the pivot point [the bit that goes into the turntable] if you do then adjust the weight so there is more downward pressure on the record [ or just try putting weight on the tonearm ] and see if this helps

I don't have anything on that model but general advice would be to...

Try to grab the belt with something soft without sharp edges - say, a loop of yarn or ribbon. Rotate the opening in the platter over to the drive pulley (generally about the 7-8 o'clock position when viewed from the front) and using the ribbon gently stretch the belt over it. If it catches remove the ribbon and manually rotate the platter clockwise about 5-10 turns to seat it and reset any cueing mechanisms. If it's still on and tensioned replace the plate and go to the balancing act.

Look up the recommended tracking force for your cartridge/stylus.

Unplug the power to the turntable and place it on a perfectly level surface.
Using the tonearm elevation control, raise the tonearm.
Manually move the tonearm in toward the platter.
Manually rotate the platter ClockWise a few turns to disengage any cueing mechanisms.
Set the Tracking Force to 0.
Disengage the tonearm elevation control. The tonearm will either float or drop. This is why we have no power, just in case it hits the platter.
Adjust the counterweight until the tonearm floats exactly horizontal. Use the flat portion of the tonarm rest as a gauge.
Return the tonearm to its rest.
Dial in the prescribed tracking force and a corresponding anti-skate reading. Play records.

The tonearm lift is no longer level as it should be and the arm is sliding along it under gravity as the arm lowers to the record. Has it received a knock?

Have a close look to see whether it has been tilted slightly. That would be enough to give the problem.

A new stylus should not change the tone arm balance setting if it is the correct stylus.

Does your arm have a sliding balance weight at the rear of the arm? If so you can slide this slightly towards the cartridge to regain the correct playing weight.

I would suggest you get a repair shop to do this for you, or you could finish up damaging your records.

Well, it seems you answered your own question. Replace your stylus. If that doesn't solve your problem, the issue might be your RCA cables or tonearm.

What many people don't understand is that it takes ALOT to wear out a record. I mean, you would have to play a record about a good 1000 times before you'll see any sort of real wear/tear on it. Why do you think they last so long? Besides, record wear doesn't sound like that. With TRUE record wear you'll experience lots of skipping from your stylus, as the grooves have worn down. Also, you'll get alot of pan issues, where the sound goes in/out left/right side. The grooves of a record are a V shape, and the left side of the V carries the left signal, and the right side carries the right signal. With record wear, usually 1 side will wear out quicker than the other, and that's why you'll get inconsistencies with sound.

Unless you play the same record over and over again for the past few years, you wont see this kind of wear.

Replace your stylus first, then have your RCA cables and tonearm checked. Try cleaning out your tonearm with 99.9% PURE ISOPROPYL ALCOHOL and see if that does anything.
