Yes, I think that could be the cause. You can defragment the drive and that could give the slightest improvement, add RAM might be an improvement, but mostly, your HDD might not have enough room for the required amount of VM (virtual memory).

You didn't mention how big the harddrive; it might be fine. Have you checked for malware and spyware. They can certainly slow down a system.

Doris, when you get Internet Explorer fully loaded, click on Tools, then Internet options, then Advanced, you should see a button that says reset > click this, and wait. close and relaunch internet explorer, see if it improves it. If not, then goto start > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs Look for any and all entries, that end with Toolbar, and remove ALL toolbars, then once this is done, reboot your computer, and see if there is an improvement. If there is not you need to have a professional clean your computer.

all you have to do is go to tool>internet options> the advance tap
and then go to the bottom and click reset

Well, it could be bought. Try testing it in an offline environment.. if it improves dramatically it s the Internet, if not it is the computer but that still doesn t guaranty that the internet connection is suitable.

But i would put my money on the internet... that s the most common problem.

Ask them to review you connection speed to make sure your getting the speed you ordered. Linksys is usually pretty good. See if it's faster WITHOUT using the wireless (plug directly into the modem). If it is I can only think of two things... Ether you need to relocate your wireless modem to acheive a stronger signal OR if your signal is strong on your adapters end, you could always upgrade to a different wireless adapter that can handle faster conections.

Your internet connection speed may be faster as stated.

You may have a firewall blocking/filtering all traffic, that slows down your system. Disable or uninstall this firewall that could do some help.

also disable windows automatic updates. This creates more internet traffic.

If you can turn off automatic updates...it will make some difference.

The more RAM your system have, the more faster internet experience you will get.
