I purchased a Dell Computer back in 2004 which came with Sonic Digital Media Plus v7. My PC has Windows XP Operating System. A few days ago I decided to install Version 6.0 of Roxios Easy CD/DVD Burning Software (Mistake). After installing I had a problem where none of the applications or my PC could detect my CD Drive (Ie I received Detect No Drive error messages). I then went online to find out how to solve this problem from Dell, I was directed to a link to download a software program called Microsoft Fixit. I ran that and at this fixed my problem. I then made another dumb mistake. I decided to uninstall the Roxio Easy CD Creator v6.0. After it was uninstalled, I am now receiving that exact error message again about no drive detected using the Sonic Software. What is the best solution to resolve this problem. Try uninstalling Roxio and the Sonic drives and run Fixit. Then reboot and install Roxio first then the Sonic driver.
If this doesn't work uninstall again as previously, install Roxio and check the CD/DVD if necessary run Fixit then install Sonic driver.

Hi There,

Windows Media Center Edition is exactly that; an "Edition" of XP Pro. If you go to My Computer and then click on System Properties, you will likely be comforted to see that you indeed have Windows Media Center Edition 2005.

Bought the RCA m4304-a for son for Christmas when we try to install software we get errors on each item it tries to download

Try using Windows Media Player to upload your music. I'm not a fan of the software that came with it. I received mine as a Christmas gift a few days ago and I found it is so much easier to upload music through Windows Media Player than to use their software. Plus, it is a lot easier to upload audio books as well. Make sure you have the most up to date version of Windows Media Player for your operating system. I run Windows XP, so mine was Windows Media Player 10.

I haven't tried to upload video or pictures yet though. Hope this helps!

FULL VERSION OF XP PRO TO DOWNLOAD ?

At the moment, the only method of getting Windows XP install media is by purchasing the disc or ordering install media directly from Microsoft. The other way is if you're a MSDN subscriber, you can usually download software images from Microsoft and use your own key.

The other way to do this is by finding a friend who has a Windows XP cd of your version [for example, Windows XP Home OEM, OEM meaning that the disc came with a manufacturer such as Dell or HP, or Windows XP Home Retail, meaning that the disc came in a Windows XP Home box someone purchased]. If you can borrow thier disc, you can use your key off of your COA [Certificate of Authenticity] which is a sticker on your computer showing your 25 digit license key. This will install Windows XP legally on your system again.

If you own an OEM computer like Compaq, HP, Dell, etc, you can also try contacting support for that PC manufacturer and seeing if you can order recovery media for your computer model. This will install the operating system, all drivers, and software that originally came with your computer back to default when you bought your PC. You may also have recovery software installed on your computer. Look under your start menu and see if you have a suite of software from your PC manufacturer, including recovery software or system restore software.

Best of luck!

Should i uninstall other burning programs on my computer?

Hi dbarbosa63
I would suggest uninstalling the other software. I have had more than enough instances ehare roxio and other software had conflicts. Remeber to restart after unstallinf the other software to get the drivers they may have used out of the system before installing the roxio.
