Sony TV Mod. KDL-32R300B, last evening the screen went black, volume was normal.

1. Turn off the TV. IMPORTANT: For a projection TV that uses an internal lamp, wait 5 minutes after turning off the TV to allow the lamp to cool before continuing.
   
2. Unplug the TV power cord from the electrical outlet.
3. Let the television remain without power for 60 seconds.
4. Plug the power cord back into the electrical outlet. Note: If your TV was previously plugged into a power strip or surge protector, plug it directly into the wall outlet instead in case the power strip or surge protector was causing a problem.
   
5. Turn on the TV.

found the problem after reading a post on this site. Last thing I used was DVD player so disconnected DVD Sony player, followed the factory reset instructions and now the volume works normally! It was the DVD player. Thank you so much for the info and lead. The problem is DVD not TV,

Switch off the TV, switch off power and remove plug and wait for 48 hours and retry.

you might want to unplug the set and a box or receiver if used for a while==plug back and see if the units reboot helps this problem or not===a box or external unit can cause this kind of problem.

Unable to Power On or Off the set

Symptoms / Customer Description
The symptom may occur while the TV is ON or in Standby.

1) If the problem occurs while the TV is in Standby:
The TV will not turn on via the remote or power button located on the set however after AC reset (i.e. unplug the TV for at least 30 seconds from the AC source) the TV returns to normal operation.

2) If the problem occurs while the TV is in use:
You may lose the ability to power off the TV or switch the video inputs however channel changing, adjusting volume, or accessing the menu may still be possible. After AC reset (i.e. unplug the TV for at least 30 seconds from the AC source) the TV returns to normal operation.

Sony has designed the BRAVIA Televisions to be CUSTOMER Software Upgradeable and therefore Sony will not pay a service claim on any issue resolved by a software upgrade. If a customer requests an update please refer them to the following website: http://www.updatemytv.com. If a customer reports either symptom above request that they unplug the set from the AC wall outlet for at least 30 seconds and then plug the set back in. This will reset the TV and it should work fine for several months. If resetting the TV does not resolve the issue the customer has a different problem and a service call by a technician may be required

take your tv to technician who can check your power supply, if your power is coming on and off, than a problem is not as big. firstly let him check a ht of a supply constantly, your supply is cutting.

Sony Wega Triniton KV-32FS100 TV

For the last week my TV has been going to a black screen for 10 seconds or so then the picture returns. It has been continual. Last night it stopped going to black screen, but now the standby light flashes 5 consecutive times and the color went haywire. A lot of red and everything that is suppose to be black is green.

I did a soft and hard reset with no success. What's wrong and is it worth fixing? Bought new in November 2002.

The only time I have seen a Sony set with absolutely no picture and no on-screen menu but no error codes from the front LED, the main signal CXA jungle IC was bad and needed to be replaced. This is something that should only be attempted by a qualified tech familiar with Sont sets.
