Question about LG Washing Machines
If this is a front loader and older model check the spider arm on the back of the drum it may be corroded and putting the drum off center at low speed. I just replaced the drum to tub gasket and the spider arm which was severely corroded (name may not be correct go to the LG parts site)

SOURCE: grinding noise when drum rotates
may be a foreign object trapped in between the inner and outer tub. Major Disassembly required to split the outer tub. May also be the rear bearing in which case back half will have to be replaced.

SOURCE: LG LE Error code
The 'LE' error message indicates the control board
has detected that the motor is either not turning, or has locked up for
some reason. Monitoring the motor is the job of the hall effect sensor
board which constantly determines the direction and speed of the motor
and feeds that information back to the control board. If there is a
problem between what the motor should be doing and what the hall effect
sensor says the motor is doing, the 'LE' will be displayed and the
cycle will be stopped.

If it comes on and runs I would keep it, I would just take the machine part and check everything that I could to make sure that it was safe to use. As far as the noise you mentioned, check the blower wheel, felt and glides and bearing kit.
