Pull out the hdd and format it in a computer in one single partition NTFS. Put the hdd back and upgrade with the last file disponible on Philips and enjoy again your device. Success.

Philips 3360H - can't eject DVD

Try this..turn it off, unplug it for a min or two, then plug it back in. THEN...if the power stays off...hit the eject/open/close button on the panel.

Sometimes this activates the eject mode without turning on the unit. IF NOT, try the remote eject without turning on the unit.

Rec from hdd to disc

Only use one of the disc types that is listed in the manual that they have actually tested on unit. If the HDD recordings were made in HQ mode, then you will only be able to fit a one-hour or less recording on a DVD. You cannot reverse this at this point. For future HDD recordings, set the record mode to 4hr or higher.

Problem Recording HDD to DVD-R

Hi,

I had a few problems with my philips 3450 - I downloaded the latest software upgrade at www.philips.com/support , and my issues were resolved. Worth a shot...

Only other thing I can think of is you may have a faulty batch of DVD-Rs?

Best of luck!

Can't record from hdd to recordable dvd

Had the same problem on my 6month old 3440H, its the degradation of the cheap Asatech Chinese DVD drive that is the source of the problem. . My 3440H HDD to DVD transfer sequentially degraded, It stopped recording DVD+ and -R's then on RW's it sometimes performed and some not.I gave up using cheap DVD's then with higher quality disks  it would frequently report task completed but then would not plaback or freeze in the way you describe. I bought the DVDR from the CO-OP Xmas 2006. Co-op no longer support electricals so when it went wrong Co-op gave me a service centre to take it to. Long story short Philips dont recognise the service centre and they declared my warrany void. Tried to re-engage with Philips but they basically were not interested in supporting their product..
Not an elegant fix but since Phillips were useless,  I opened the box nothing ....to lose ..I now run it on a bare external Sony DVD drive using extended ribbon and power cables as its a bit tricky to find space in the box to mount the drive.

Murray
