I have a Samson XP501i and I want to also hook up a monitor to it. I have a Samson POWERED monitor - 800 watts. Will that work? Or will it blow up my PA?

You can safely connect your powered monitor speaker to either the monitor output jacks or the tape output RCA jacks on your XP510. In addition, you may download the owner's manual here:

Samson 65a: power good, speakers good , LEDs lit, no sound at all?

Check and replace the damaged component/s at its audio output section circuit board. If needy, replace this board as card basis. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Pull up older posts. Search the site by type in the "brand name" to your device; in the "Search box at the top right of the display window of the Homepage" to get gathered related posts.

Samson SX1200 - Protect light on. No blown output transistors.

Have you checked the power supply section? Also look out for any IC's in the amp stages. They can go causing that kind of fault.

Speaker humms only. what causes that?

Incorrect connections or volume settings.

• In powering up, mixer first then amp

• In turning off , amp first then mixer

If hum still persist, without the mixer connected

then speaker amp may need servicing.

65a Resolv studio monitors. The left one just blew out -- maybe. The blue LED stays dim, as though the monitor has been sleeping. When I power off the monitor, the speaker gives a loud pop, and the cone...

You are getting DC offset voltage on one of your amplifiers that is the reason the speaker pushes out and you might be hearing a humming noise too. Do not turn on the speakers till you get it fixed or else you would end up burning the speaker voice coil too.The dim blue LED is also an indication of a short circuit in the output stage.
Your left amplifier needs a output chip (IC ) replacement. You will need professional help to do that. Will cost you about 20$ plus service charges.

Hum coming from one speaker

Not good. you may have a blown amplifier. To check this, put a volt meter across the speaker terminals with the amp hooked up and off. Turn the amp on with the volume set to minimum and check for any voltage at the speakers. you should have no DC voltage (less than .1 volt) at the speakers. hope this helps
