SOURCE: HOTPOINT FDW60P DISHWASHER

There is usually a float switch inside the DW body. Usually a polystyrene lump. This may be stuck in the up position, or a pool of water may still exist within the case.

When you say trips the electric - is this your wall MCB or ELCB ? If it is that then there is a major electrical fault on this machine that needs investigation.

SOURCE: LG dishwasher drain hose

You will have to remove the dishwasher from the cabinet, lay it on it's side, and remove the bottom access cover to get to the end of the hose. (it's usually not as bad as it sounds)

chances are, your water switch is stuck..
its the thing inside the dishwashe that kinda looks like a plastic mushroom.. (its a float)
sometimes they get corroded with excess detergent.. wiggle that up and down some to free up the float and it just might fix your problem.

SOURCE: the dishwasher does not drain, i just replace my

Hello, Welcome to FixYa. I just came accross your post and immediately I thought, " drain plug in garb not punched out" this is very common when a new garb or dishwasher is installed..so much If I had a dollar for every one I saw or heard about I could be paid a couple of trip charges. If you haven't already done so, remove the drain hose from the garb and knock out the stop inside the spout. See your installation guide/owners manual ( for the garb/disposer ) if you still have it, that should show you "where" and "how". Let me know either way and I'll help further if necessary. Regards, Macmarkus :)

Why does my Dishwasher not drain completely at end of wash? Westinghouse model 905

I would 1st check your filter. Most dishwashers have them, and they get backed up. Usually on the bottom of the dishwasher. You can google location of yours specifically.

Westinghouse Dishwasher 905,prewash light keeps flashing and wont start to next cycle.Turn it on it makes the pump noise then the light just flashes.Help please.

Gary Miller was closest. You can also try this:
After the outlet hose has drained, open the dishwasher door and blow hard into the outlet hose (try not to get any gunk in your mouth! I usually put my hand in between the hose and my mouth.
You will find a bit of resistance then it should clear. Remove the filter (the one you remove and clean after every wash) and see if there is any gunk in the sump. Remove what you can by drawing the water out as best you can and using a rag to remove the gunk. Close the door and see if it tries to fill. Let it fill for a while until there is some water in the sump. Do the blow through the outlet hose trick again to see if it has cleared.
If you ket the dishwasher drain via the outlet hose, any gunk in the hose will end up clogging it again.

An OE error = Dishwasher not fully drained out in spite of 5 min. drainoperation
Remove the cause of kink or block in the drain hose.
Remove the filter and confirm that there is no debris in the sump area, especially the drain pump outlet.
Check the wiring connections, especially in the wiring harness in the door panel. Look for "melting" insulation.
Measure the electric resistance of Drain Motor. (good=20-40 ohms) Replace the Drain Motor if out of spec.

Won't drain

The drian could be plugged or the pump could have an obstruction. Did you just install a garbage disposer? If you did you may need to knock out the plug in the disposer. Hope this helps
