Flash error My son has the MyMusix PD-6030 MP3 and all of the sudden it has this message "flash error! please backup the data and format the player". He has had this MP3 and used it daily for months, I don't understand what this message means. I plugged it into my computer and formatted it, everything seemed ok. I put some new songs on it to see if it would work and now I get the same message. I've done this 3 times now. Is this MP3 now ruined? Do you know what this message is about?

    Or you can do this

You can also format the player in Windows Media Player tiself.

Connect your Mp3 player to the computer and open Windows
Media Player. Click on the Sync tab. Pull down the drop down menu
underneath the Sync tab by moving your cursor over the Sync tab and
left clicking on the little black arrow underneath the Sync tab.
Highlight "name of Mp3 player here 1GB" (wording may vary slightly),
and then select "Format." - this should erase everything.

MyMusix PD 6030 persistently displays flash error! please backup the data and format the player. This happened after I tried to replace an existing playlist with a new one.

I would recommend you do back up your files to the computer and then format the player.

Q: How do I format my PD-6030?
A: There are various way to format the PD-6030.
With Windows XP, go to Start, All Programs and select 'My Computer'. Then see if there is a device called an 'Audio Player' listed there. If so , open the Audio Player and right click the item named 'Internal Storage' and select 'Format'. Once the format is complete, unplug the player and turn it on. Once it turns on and says 'No Files' plug it back in to your PC and add the music back to the player.
With older version of Windows, the player will show up under 'My Computer' as a 'Removable Disk'. Right click that and select "format'.

Flash error! please backup the data and format the player

remove the player program, Then reinstall the converter program from the disk first. Then reinstall the primary program, this will ddelete the converter program you just installed. When I did this the Player began to work properly. Why? Any ans I came up with does not make sense. It just happened to solve the problem for me. Hope it does the same for you. Also, doing this you will find ( at least i did) that youare starting from scratch as if it were a new machine.

Flash error please back up the data and format disk

Reformat the player.
If you have a Windows-based computer,
Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard.

If that fails,
Check the battery polarity. (+ and - must be in correct psoition)
Set the hold button to the unlock position.
Check if the file system is NTFS. If yes ,format it to FAT or FAT32. - Connect player to computer, click my computer, right click on icon of mp3 player and select format
If that fails,
go to www.mymusix.com to see if the latest software update will correct the problem
